I know there has been ALOT of talk about the BA4800s on this board. I cannot seem to make up my on which speaker system to buy. I will mainly be using these speakers to listen to music (I like rap and techno), and play games. I do not care about watching DVDs on this computer.
Which one would be better? I like the ADAs because of the remote, and the DTT because of the Dolby decoder for easy adjustments to volume and bass.

I am using a Turtle Beach Santa Cruz (I just bought it, so if this won't work, I have another 12 days to take it back).

What do you think?

Forget the DTT2500, I almost spent $300 CDN on it!! If you're not a DVD person, the center channel on it is almost useless. Plus if you are a bass person, its 5.25" sub doesn't to too good. The BA4800 are good all around speakers, they also have nice rear stands. The ADA880's are what i would go for. I'm a bass person, its 8" sub is nice. But the front speakers has a tweater, the rear doesn't so it's somewhat unbalanced. There has also been cases that the power of the woofer can shake the satellites off the desk.

Thanks!

I was reading a review on the ADA 880s that said that this is not a "true 4-speaker gaming system". What does this mean? Do you or anybody else own a pair of the ADA's? I would like to see how they would perform on techno and rap. I already know that the BAs may not have enough bass to handle rap.

And this is a bad thing?

Any more insight?

Bostons all the way. About the Altecs and not having "true 4 speaker gaming", I think its because there arent enough plugs to connect both the front and rear speaker jacks. Something like the rear speakers are just a mirror of the front speakers. I read that somewhere but not 100% sure.

I think I have made up my mind. And the winner is...

most people said DDT2500 sucks big donkey nuts, but I never heard it so I wouldn't say much about it, but the Subwoofer by spec is a bit weak.

BA4800 was great, it took some time to like it though (which was odd, speakers are not like Fine Wine)

ADA880 is a bit of an odd ball, I kinda like it, because it got that "imitation" surround sound feel. but for some music, like Limp Bizkit (excuse my taste), these speakers are not for it.

Yes, it comes down to what you like to use your computer for.

If you watch alot of dvd's and want dolby 5.1 surround sound, then go for the DTT2500.

If you play games and the occasional movie OR don't really care about dolby 5.1 surround sound, then go for BA 4800's. The BA 4800's still support Dolby Surround ( not just 5.1 surround ) cuz it's missing a speaker, BUT the movie is still gonna sound kick ass, lol.

One more thing...

If you watch movies alot and want, not only Dolby 5.1 surround sound but also THX sound, then you would want the ADA 880's. I think they are THX certified.
