Add a the old look as a forum skin.

Definitely not a fan of the new look. Would it be possible to add a theme that looks like the old vbulletin look? Everything is too white on the main page, none of the subforums look divided from the rest.

Add something I don't know what. One of the main reasons I enjoyed this forum was its look. Easy on the eyes. Honestly now it gives me a headache trying to decipher through the text.

I like Xenforo but this is horrible..........

Its mostly ALL WHITE like VB4..... I do not like stuff getting worse and I usually leave any site that does...


Im using the VBB style skin right now which makes it look slightly better but it still doesnt look good!! (I can run custom CSS in my browser which allows me to run any skin I want really)

Now im using the default Xenforo skin and it looks the best but I cant stand the white!!

Colors are horrible, light gray very hard to read. The Anandtech I used to like is dead now.

I am testing different skins.... Im now using the skin I use on dbstalk.com/index and it gives the message area A GREEN LOOK (When reading a thread) instead of white....... Looks somewhat better...

Was going to post the same comment; strongly prefer the old look (not just colour/font but also having the forums listed on the left side - much easier than the pull down box at the top). Hum. hardforum did something similar probalby same software. I've always been the camp that newer is not better - but I suspect one of the reason for the upgrade was software was dated (security et all).

I really don't understand why everything has gone white. It's well proven that staring at white on a computer screen causes eye strain yet Google, Windows 10, everything is going white just because it looks "clean".

Chrome extension "high contrast" will invert white and boost clarity of texts etc for people who want an immdiate solution. There is also the inbuilt colour invert feature of Windows magnifier (a life saver for long Word and Excel sessions).

I hate this white look too. It's not just the color, but the fact that the boundaries between different posts are very faint and hard to see against the white background. There should at least be a preferences option to change the theme.

I use custom dark themes in Windows and Firefox. Might have to find browser addons to do the same here.

Personally, I'd be happy if they just offered some darker color schemes and shrank the size of that giant Anandtech logo at the top. Not everyone has a 4K monitor yet, guys

I started posting again for the first time in probably 6 or 7 years, and was pleased when the site looked the same. A couple weeks go by and BAM haha. Looking forward to different skins.

I was going to create a thread here for this topic... I don't visit here that much but I can't get used to this new format... for me it's just hard to read.. not sure why.. the old format was much better.

Alright I found where to change it to "party like it's 2004" and it looks MUCH better.. not perfect though... I still don't like how the main forum page looks but it's good enough for me to drop the issue now.

Navigation sucks, now how do I get to what I want to read?

Another month has passed and Anandtech Forums still are terrible. Too bright, crazy amount of white space, hard to find stuff, have to do weird things to even log in.

I am using the "VB Style (Experimental)"

Still way too bright. Navigation is lousy. Still have to do weird things to even login since login does not show up on the first page that is served.

Oh well, it has been a long run for me since 2001, probably time to move on.
