ADD at 20 yrs old?

AaronP agrees with me, as do the writers of South Park.

He didn't believe it exists. He didn't say its a result of bad parenting. Are all your opinions rooted in Southpark and the Howard Stern show?

ADD is a myth, propegated by the synthetic drug companies to make money. Once you take medication, your body becomes 'infected' with dormant chemicals that, once you stop taking their meds, you start to get antsy and cant pay attention to anything.

Yes, my 22 y/o cousin has it.he has ADHD, and I don't know how people stand him without his medication (It'swither aderol, or ritalin).Without his medication, he starts getting very jumpy, he can't sit down, he talks so fast that his speech is incoherent, and he looks lik ehe is on two-way pills. Trust me, some people really do need that stuff.....

I used to always get bored with homework after 10 minutes but if its something I wanted to do, like playing a video game, working on a website, etc. I could zone in for hours which made me think it was a cop out and my own lack of self-dicipline. >>



Actually the "zone" you are talking about is ADD symptom it is called "Hyper Focus" I am 28 w/ ADD and back at school now boy unless I want to read a book I cannot at all. Just plain can't unless I have zero distractions. I have also been diagnosed Bipolar (so don't piss me off:disgust: I might go off on you ) Unfortunatly Kids w/ ADD have a much higher change of Becoming Bipolar later on if not already getting there. All I can say is Ritalin is ok maybe just a lil help. One thing that I like about side effects though you have more energy and losing weight is much easier. I took 60mg a day which at the time was the suggested limit per day and it was not enough. I have taken so many Meds it is not even funny.... lets see the ones I can remember:

  bruproperin <--don't remember
  Prozac <--- not too bad made me a couch potato
  BuSpar was like a sugar pill
  zoloft<--- no help
  paxil <-- helped at first built tolerance
  Lithium <-- Sux gotta get your blood drawn all the time and made me Loopy and sluggish
  Xanax <-- for acute times when I need to chill. But for people that need it there is NO cool side effects that people abuse it for.:disgust:
  Depakote <-- good stuff but in a small part of the population it makes you lose your hair (Like me isgust had to discontinue due to vanity.
  many others that I cannot remember at this time.

THe Best medicine so far is EXERCISE!!!! Yes this includes sex (with others you spanksters!) running, walking, biking, hiking is good too.

I think I am a victom of the Psychological system though my last 3 doctors have 1 died under strange circumstances, moved away suddenly, and fell asleep while listening to me while charging $190 an hour. (B!TCH still have not paid her )

Sorry so long I am unmedicated, and other than mouse clicking and sex I do not exercise I hate being Hot! thanks for letting me rant.

And Howard stern your choice of names for AT has hindered your abilty to be taken seriously
