puppys chew. mine was chewing his rawhide after playing with the neighbor dogs, my wife went the kitchen for some water, when she came back he was chewing on halo reach(7-8mo old at the time).

First, blame myself for not keeping halo reach out of his reach. When my dog was ten months, he chewed apart several Comcast remotes til I learned to put it away when I left for work.

I also rubbed bitter apple on electrical/speaker cables. When I caught him chewing on one my sneakers, I starled him by screaming no. Took the sneaker away and picked-up one of his rawhides/squeaky toys and put it in front of him. Praised him when he started to chew on that.

It's takes vigilance and persistence but after a while, they'll learn. Until then, I would crate or confine them.

It's pretty close to accurate given the intention of my original comment was to illustrate that just because my dogs are in the kennel doesn't mean I am gone.

There are really only about 4 hours a day where an intruder could bank on my dogs not being in the kennel.

You crate and confine your puppies when you can't supervise them?? HOW DARE YOU

1) I am not obligated to tell you how I raise my dogs, provide you with complete, or even factual information on how I raise my dogs.

If you provide incorrect or incomplete information, any misunderstandings are your fault. If you did not want to discuss your habits, don't bring them up.

2) I know more about MY two dogs than anyone here
3) Someone on ATOT trying to make suggestions when they weren't requested or needed. IMAGINE THAT

But leave it to ATOT to turn a thread with a webcam of two dogs into a thread telling me that I should be leaving my two adolescent dogs in the house unsupervised when they know nothing about them.

Where did anyone say to leave them in the house unsupervised?

I thought I made it pretty clear that when I am in the house and able to supervise them, they are in with me, and that is generally about 4 hours a day. If I'm making dinner, cleaning, etc..., they are out in the yard or in the garage where I don't need to supervise them.

You never mentioned the yard before. You said they spent 20 hours in the garage.

Once they mature they'll spend the night in there. I'm not worried about my valuables, so they'll continue spending their day in the kennel while we are at work.

I was suggesting that to Zargon not me. Only confinement I've done is blocking them from the upstairs. They have the downstairs and doggie door to the backyard.

That's the thing. You obviously are stretching the truth now about their care. It seems you are more interested in the internet than being around the dogs you took in.

5 hours of training seems a bit lengthy as well, is this some home brewed crap?

Is this your own home or you sharing it?

That area you keep them probably wouldn't pass ASPCA rules. You mentioning them pissing and crapping all over it also shows problems.

German Shepherds don't need to be protection trained to watch a home. A protection dog has no place as a pet (however; these dogs aren't really pets it seems).

If you adopted these from any legitimate rescue/shelter they'd have not agreed to the care you are providing.

LOL. Cesar Milan is no Iron Chef of the dog world. Letting one of his dogs to be attacked/bitten so he could dominant the offending dog makes him a moron.

And nothing wrong with using food to bribe a dog for training. It's the first step in training while transitioning away from treats as you complete it. It may take longer to train but just as effective.

To be fair, Milan isn't really trying to "train" the dogs. He's just trying to get them over the most basic of behavior issues. Really it comes down to taking a deep breath and have confidence that you are in charge.
