I abide by all three rules. For what its worth my sponsor spent 7 years using opiates and cocaine. Hes been through it all. I trust him with my life.

clearly you did not become addicted to alcohol at 15? Where you at the point where if you did not drink you have withdrawals? did you have to go to a detox center before rehab?

I don't think I really understand addiction; to me it is just having the mental willpower to say no and stop. I have done many things in excess for periods of time (booze, pot, food, coffee, video games, etc..) and never, ever had a problem just stopping.

I mean there is obviously some sort of physical component since I did get a headache the first time I gave up coffee, but it was very easy to just move on from it.

Not trying to be insensitive to those who struggle with addiction, I just don't really understand it is all. :hmm:

They are not surrounded by a neighborhood full of drug dealers and addicts, they have some sort of support system at home, they were likely taught some sort of morals as a child other than to hate the police, and they have an education and a future.

A person in that environment has no reason to wallow in their own self pity and remain a drug addict. I should know, I was one of them.

Then your sponsor fails you. One of the first things you are told (or should be told) in any rehab/addictions counseling is to be careful that you you dont replace one addiction for another.

I disagree. I guess I see addiction as an escape from life, not something that's necessarily taught. It brings commonality to all man in that no one is exempt regardless of creed, social status, etc. In fact, I'd say that the person in the ghetto uses their social status as a crutch and a reason to use. The middle class are no different. They may use simply because they are middle class, are going to have to work a shitty meaningless job their whole life, then die alone in a medicare facility.

See, it's not all roses no matter where you come from. Once we can understand that people are really the same at their core, we can better understand how addiction spans young and old, rich and poor, etc.

Its a very long story and its very personal. But in the end both my parents are disabled and on medication.He has told me every drug he has taken in life(not when i was young, last year when i was 19) Hes very upset with me and disappointed because of my drug abuse but im slowly but surely gaining my parents trust back.

well i work in a pharmacy, so i kinda new it was coming thats why i stopped

2 jobs since i was 15.

First Job video store worked there for 5 years(only left because the store closed down)
Second Job office depot, been there for 3 months now.

the 3 real jobs i've had since 16 i've never missed a day

I worked in a video shop my dad owned for 4 years.
Worked at CVS Pharmacy as a pharmacy tech for 1 year
Now i work at office depot.

3 jobs in 6 years. not bad for a teenager.

I just have no interest in leaving the house today, i spent all day yesterday out of the house looking for a job and nobody is hiring, its depressing when you get rejected from dunkin motherfucking donuts. I cant get a job, i've never been so broke and owed so many people so much money. I just cant wait to start school again in the fall, the worst thing i did was take the summer off, i just cant sit around the house all day, i might as well be in class getting my education then sitting home jobless and depressed.

The vast majority of people have no problems driving while high. The same can't be said of alcohol, so there is certainly a distinction, even though you shouldn't do either.

I agree with Eli and , X, If its your first couple times blazing, i would not recommend it, but if your a seasoned toker, only thing it will make you do in the right lane on the interstate.
