Do a file search for DVobSub.ax, vobsub.dll, or VSFilter.dll in your system partition. If you don't have this file, then go here (
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=82303&package_id=84359 ) and grab VSFilter 2.33 if you just want to PLAY subtitles. DO NOT use versions higher than 2.33 as there is a playback problem if your horizontal video resolution IS NOT divisible by 8 ( ie. 716, 708, 696, etc. ). Use the link above to VobSub v2.23 if you also want to CREATE subtitles. VSFilter is greatly improved from the old DVobSub.ax, so I'd install this for smoother video playback with subtitles on.
The install is kindof tricky if you are a computer noob. Unzip the vsfilter_20040308.zip to an empty directory. Use the batch script below ( copy and paste into a blank text file and name it VSfilterREG.bat or something ) to register the VSfilter codec. Place this batch file inside the Unicode folder and run it.

If you have a player like ZoomPlayer, you can activate / access the VSFilter settings via Right-Click ( in player window ) / Filter Properties / DirectVobSub.
PS. If you don't feel like doing this work, slide me an eMail address, and I will send you an install pack that will install and register Divx 5.21 / AC3filter 1.01a / VSFilter 2.33 / unrar ( used for those who pack ( .rar ) the subtitles ) in one double-click of the mouse.
