hi
i just installed vista 64 on my system and everything is running fine so i am considering adding more memory. i have currently 4 gigs of corsair 2x2 gig memory and am wondering if i can add my previous 2 sticks of munchkin 2 gig 1x1g sticks to make a total of 6gigs.
even though they are separate brands they both have the same timings - i think 5,5,5,18 and so i hope they would work without conflict but that's why i am here. do you guys think they will work well together or will they have conflicts?
i am using a pk5 mb and plan on using memtest 86? to run tests on it but would rather not go through the effort if you guys say it is a no go.
the other option is to buy the same corsair sticks again but i would rather have this work and be able to use the 100 bucks Canadian to add towards a newer vid card since sooner or later(6mths-1year) i will be upgrading to a newer mb and probably ddr3 memory.
any help on this question would be greatly appreciated.
thanks
ps.
i do not overclock so would keep the timings at what they are rated at.
