Adding two routers to FiOS.

I had Cablevision OOL and I switched to Verizon FiOS. I have to keep the FiOS router connected in order to get OnDemand, the channel guide, and remote DVR functions. How would I go about disabling the wireless mode in the FiOS router and setting one of my routers to transmit the wireless and my other router to act as a wireless repeater bridge? I have a Linksys WRT-54G v1.1 and an Asus WL-500G Premium v2 with DD-WRT installed. The wireless on the FiOS router sometimes cuts off and this is kind of annoying and if I could eliminate it altogether, I would. Btw, I had the Linksys and Asus routers connected in router mode and wireless repeater bridge mode, respectively, when I had OOL. Thanks for any help.

Do you have an Ethernet wire or coax running from your ont to your router? If they ran Ethernet I would connect that straight to the Asus. In order for the Asus to get an ip address you need to release the one on the fios router or give them a call and tell them to release it for you. Then you can shut off the dhcp on the fios router, connect it to the asus, and still feed info to your stb's.

Thanks for your help. I currently have coax running to the FiOS router. Do I need Ethernet running to it? Could I run it myself from the ONT to the router and call Verizon if the Ethernet port is not active on the ONT?

I was able to set this up and here is what I did in case anyone wants to do the same.

I followed the guide here in order to connect my first router to the FiOS router.

Next I followed the guide here in order to set up my second router as a repeater bridge and connect it to my first router. The only things I did different from the guide were that I changed the Gateway and Local DNS IP addresses to the IP of the FiOS router, instead of the IP of my first router.

I also set up my Slingbox with the port forwarding done on the FiOS router, instead of the first router. When I had OOL the port forwarding was done by the first router.
