Additives or silver coil

Hi,
Should I use the additives or just kill coil with distilled water to prevent growth of the algae in my WCS? I have two pure 0.999 silver stripes with approximate dimensions 120mm (L) x 5mm (W) x 0.5mm (T).

Kill-Coil and PT Nuke doing the same thing or not? If does I can only use kill-coil, it have some advantages: just drop it in your reservoir and forget about it, while the PT Nuke you have to add each time you flushing your WC System. Both of them preventing growth of algae, am I right?
Conclusion:
to avoid the complicated process of importing the PT Nuke, and probably some customs problems (I'm not from USA), I'll go with kill-coil only.
Thank you for your input.

what parts are u running?

this is totally dependant on what metals u have mixing in your loop.

Silver takes time to work also.
Its not a BAM instant Fix solution.
The coolant needs to be in contact with silver for some time for the silver ions to leech into the water.
Usually the time for algae to grow is longer then the time required for silver.
However u cant expect silver to fix a system right away...
(dropping it late into an already setup water system, because once u got growth, the silver wont outpace it.)

Additives offer corrosion resistance.
This is very important if ur mixing metals.
Copper + Alu => spell for destruction if ur not running an additive.

I have:
1. Swiftech APOGEE HD Ultimate Extreme Performance Water Block - Black
2. Swiftech MCR220-DRIVE REV3 Dual 120mm Radiator w/ Integrated Pump and Reservoir
3. Phobya G-Charger 360 Radiator
4. Phobya Xstreme 200 Radiator w/ Small Integrated Reservoir
5. Two EK-FC GTX TITAN/780 - Acetal Water blocks.
think all are cooper / brass.

Distilled water and a silver coil worked great for me when I had a real water cooling system.

If your paranoid you could always add a drop or two of PT nuke I guess.

How is the weather down in Peru? High ambient temps?

Now we are in winter, the room temps are 18-20 degrees C, during the summer days (jan-mar/apr) the temps (room) are about 26/27 degrees C. The biggest problem here in Peru (especially Lima), is humidity, during the year (lowest/summer 80%, and highest/winter 98%).

In my current setup, I'm using Dead Water. My previous setup had a Monsoon Silver Bullet (silver on a G1/4 fitting) and Dead Water. I've been tempted to add a kill coil to this build as well, but I haven't gotten around to it.
