Congrats!

I really only stop by Off Topic to check on you and Slag, and it's brightened my day to see good news from both!

Chinese food still tastes excellent! I haven't had it in at least six months! The General is still a friend of mine & great crab Rangoon is still win Eating feels pleasurable again

Yeah ever since getting fixed up a couple weeks ago, for the first time in my life I actually feel good after eating. Always felt either sick (food sensitivites) or neutral, but never...good. Doesn't matter if it's a piece of chicken or a donut, I feel awesome within about five minutes after eating. Sounds like a small thing, but it's a huge miracle for me! Plus milkshakes oh my gosh

It is Sept 11, I am still here and feeling reasonably well.

Overall, I feel more like myself.

I will say that having normal white counts is a blessing, not having thrush and other traditional chemo side effects is wonderful!

I was instructed to get a flu shot and also given the okay to travel I would like to visit my daughter in Florida this winter & swim with dolphins!

Glad you are feeling better, hope you get to your daughters and swim with the dolphins.

I had pneumonia once in the sixth grade. I was out for two weeks and latter had to use an inhaler. I guess pneumonia stays in your spine, so your susceptible to it again. I never want that crap again!

It is a terrible thing though.

Hang in there, darlin!

Pee-Numonia definitely ain't fun. I've had it several times since getting gassed by an anhydrous ammonia leak over 30 years ago. (that wasn't much fun either)

Take care of yourself...take your meds...and kick Red in the junk for good ju-ju!

It was like a version of dumb & dumber... I went from sick to dying in what seemed like hours! I can't kick poor Red, as I got better her caught it too but he seems to be fighting it off quicker.

Just a quick update! I went for my third CT scan since starting Opdivo, first scan almost 60% shrinkage, second scan stable with one tumor increased by 1mm, third scan, shrinkage again! Including the tumor that had increased on the second scan. All remaining tumors are under 1 centimeter in size!

Liver, spleen, pancreas, adrenals & kidneys clear, all nodes in the middle of the chest clear.

My Oncologist is THRILLED! Said this was the response they hoped that every patient would get from this drug. For me, the best part is that it feels like my immune system is learning, it can find cancer cells and kill them! I am a responder who has tumor pain as the immune system works. Am still having pain under my arms and welcome that pain! Die bastages, die!

I will see another Thanksgiving, I will have another Christmas and best gift of all is that my scan schedule will now be after three tx cycles instead of just two! Having more shrinkage after being so sick with pneumonia is such a gift! I was steeling myself for at best a mixed scan and instead got great news!

There was dancing at MGH yesterday! Dancing!

Fantastic news! Wonderful to hear you've had such success with nivolumab, despite my serious reservations about the television commercial promoting it. Kick that cancer's ass!

I have had 13 infusions of Opdivo, this translates into 26 extra weeks of life I otherwise probably wouldn't have had. No drug is without side effects and Opdivo is no exception but they are easier to deal with than chemo. Most importantly, this drug has kept my cancer under control and I am grateful for this pain free time.

See? I TOLD YOU...kicking Red in the junk was good ju-ju...and good therapy too.

He posted this news over at "the place that shall not be named here" last night.

Was the best news we've seen in a long time.

Keep fighting...because...FUCK cancer!

The best part was seeing the head & neck Oncologist John Clarke who first DX me ..back then the tumor in my neck was 22mm, today I think it's 9mm and shrinking, he felt my neck looked and got a huge smile on his face " nice looking collar bone you got there"

Boomer, I pray to be an outlier, one of the folks who responds to this drug for years. There are many new immunotherapy combos in the pipeline, if I can stay good till my next drug comes along I will be thrilled. Also being a long term survivor might make me more attractive to researchers running new immunotherapy combo trials cause reasearchers love outliers! I have no problem jumping from trial to trial.

Thank you all for thinking of me, it means more than you will ever know.
