After two sessions of Carboplatin and Alimta CT scan showed I had shrinkage in some tumors with progression in others. A closer look at my pathology showed a mixed tumor load. I started on the immunotherapy drug Opdivo on Monday. So far fatigue and tumor pain are my only side effects. Praying my T cells get boosted enough to kill some cancer.
I must say this stuff can have serious side effects but as sick as I was my last round of chemo I am tolerating this treatment well so far.

Prayers for you and your family. I missed this thread somehow and am sorry I did not reply sooner. Best of luck on your journey.

Had a visit at MGH yesterday, my lab work all came back normal, my white and red counts have returned to normal, my weight is stable and one of the tumors in my neck is smaller. They called me a " rock star" 2nd Immunotherapy infusion today. Let's hope more of those cancer cells get taken down by my killer T cells!
t cells! t cells! t cells!

Glad to hear you're getting better!
There are some amazing cancer treatments in progress today. Glad to hear your tumors are responding to Immunotherapy - that's got to be the healthiest therapy for you - but your oncologist will have many potential treatments. It is my Oncologist's hope that Immunotherapy will extend my life and that when this stops working another treatment will come along. Sort of like treating cancer as a chronic illness.
