What is really funny is that I don't have any tumors in my lungs. The Oncologists are saying they think my immune system killed the sucker early on... But not before it got to my lymph system. All I know is that my Killer T cells are super busy now. I picture them dressed as Avengers throwing lightening bolts at cancer cells!

Just wanted to update you all. After four infusions of Opdivo I had a CT scan with contrast. EVERY tumor shrank! Some substantially, the big tumor in my neck went from 22mm down to 8mm.

Opdivo is not a side effect free paradise but I work my normal schedule and am trying to get more active at home. ( my cancer left me rather deconditoned so doing the dishes, cleaning the bathroom and taking out a bag of trash feels like a victory)

Praying for continued shrinkage and mighty glad to still be alive today

Three cheers for you shrinkage, Jean!

Great news. Remember, wars are won one battle at a time. This battle puts you that much closer to winning the war.

Had round six of Opdivo yesterday, the good news is my labs were perfect, including my thyroid. Had to have an EKG before TX as my pulse read low on the digital machine ( Metoprolol for PVC's ) I also need a chemo port put in sooner rather than later. And oh yeah, this drug loves inflammation so my teeth will be leaving sooner rather than later. All in all though I am still here and grateful for each day.

Dentures are better than cancer.

Congrats on the clean labs!

Sucks about the teeth. Fuck!

Just had a bunch of work done four years ago. Now I had a root canal yesterday and he couldn't find the other nerve and didn't have time so filled it in with temp stuff and will have to come back to finish killing this tooth. Have to take antibiotics until then.

It's my second root canal. First one was when I was like in the fifth grade. I don't remember it that well, but this one I felt the damn file hit the bottom of of tooth when he was filing the nerves out of it! Damn!

Can you afford implants? Assuming you will lose teeth?

Resting today, had round seven of Opdivo infused yesterday. Tired and slightly feverish today both signs normal for me. Glad to still be here! One more infusion then it is scan time, head to toe, brain MRI & full body CT. Praying for more shrinkage!

John, I have stage IV cancer, even if I could afford that many implants it's not something doable. Any money I have will be plowed into living expenses and some sort of trust fund for my autistic son, if there is anything left after I pass.

If you pass.

If not, we'll do an indiegogo. No worries.

Sorry to hear that. I can understand the money problem. My aunt had cancer and died just one year latter and so did my second cousin. In fact, my aunt was diagnosed on 9/11.

Personally, every time I see these cancer commercials that must cost at least a million to run and all the years cancer has been studied and all the money it cost I think it's a money making scam. We can put a man on the moon, have a probe beyond Pluto, see the edge of the big bang, etc, etc, but can't cure cancer? I don't buy it. We know lots about DNA. There's no excuse with the millions being pumped into cancer research.

Heart attack runs in my mom's side of the family and I'm more related to my mom so I'll probably expire when I reach 60/65 I reckon. Doesn't help when I weigh about 335 ponds right now.

BTW- You can call me Aaron. John Connor is just a character in the movie Terminator. I was named after Aaron Spelling the famous producer. For those who don't know who that it is his daughter is Tori Spelling who played Donna Martin in Beverly Hills 90210.

If it's okay with you I'll say a prayer. There is a church two houses down and I can go there. It's where I have voted ever since I moved here. It's a ritual of mine to pray and then vote. LOL
