Still waiting for the steri strips to fall off around the port but so far swelling is going down, no redness or obvious signs of infection, the cut they made to access the jugular is healing well. So praying all goes well.

We put them in at work daily, only ever seen 1 infection, patients love them. And a very happy day for them when we can remove them.

Just to let you all know, my second scan on Opdivo is stable! I would have liked even more dramatic shrinkage like my first scan but will settle for stable considering I had a port put in & probably a lot of inflammation.

Edit: the Nurse Practiconer from my PCP's office called me about needing to come in to get my cholesterol levels checked. ( I take Simvastatin ) she was going on & on. It occurred to me that she was missing key points of info. A. I have Stage IV cancer, B. I had lost 15 pounds and my Oncolgist told me to eat anything that caught my eye. C. I have a chemo port & there are no port certified nurses in that office. LOL, she apologized so profusely that I was actually laughing & forgiving her! Suggested they call the Onc and add the test to my other labs

You're telling me...I just got a newer treatment for my digestive allergies & have been able to eat dairy for the first time in a decade. Dairy Queen is amazing :wub: Glad to hear things are looking up!

It is Sept 11, I am still here and feeling reasonably well. Tumor in my neck feels slightly smaller though my Onc says we might have a radiation party for it

Overall, I feel more like myself. My heart has adjusted to the chemo port & a lowered dose of Metoproplol so my dizziness episodes have almost ended. My thought processes feel clearer as well, less anxiety. My legs feel steadier too, walking is easier & my appetite is still good. I get tired easily at times but this is the most common side effect of Opdivo, my nasal allergies also appear worse this Fall but nothing in this life is really free is it?

I will say that having normal white counts is a blessing, not having thrush and other traditional chemo side effects is wonderful! I was instructed to get a flu shot and also given the okay to travel I would like to visit my daughter in Florida this winter & swim with dolphins!
