I e-mailed them and was told (paraphrased) "we are sorry for the screw up and here are the return instructions." I e-mailed them back and asked if I could return the product without the Original UPC since I had already sent in the Manufacturer's Rebate that was In The Box !. They responded as follows:
<< Unfortunately, we are unable to accept the return of the Adobe Photoshop Elements 1.0 as you have already redeemed the manufacturer's rebate coupon. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. However, because of the circumstances surrounding your order, I have made an exception in this one case to request a refund to your credit card of $30.00 in lieu of the third rebate. This refund should go through within the next few days and will appear as a credit on your next credit card billing statement. >>
Looks like the CSR's are giving out MIXED results, so try again. By the way, you could respond that the FINE PRINT SAYS NOTIHING ABOUT ANY REBATE BEING INVALID. It looked instead like all three were valid. Only one required the Original UPC. The others took copies. The one that they calim is a duplicate calls for a copy of the UPC. The Manufacturer's rebate requires the original -- they are not on their face the same reabte so what were you supposed to read better. What the heck were you supposed to think when you read the ad that said $9.99 after 3 rebates. Hardly a TYPO by Amazon Ithink.
