Hmm.......we currently sublease an office from Macromedia at work. They recently started sending in a bunch of people from India here to work on a project, wonder how that affects that (and our sublease)

*sigh* I cant wait for the load times of the applications to increase. Much like acrobat reader 5 to 6. Why does adobe make a READER take so long to load. it is so iritating. Next time you see a flash thing, it will have to load, just wait. youl see.

Wow, can you imagine, a DREAMWEAVER, FLASH, COLDFUSION with Photoshop, acrobat, ....

It will be awesome IF THEY INTEGRATE. i hate in photoshop the integration of imageready.

Unless they integrate whats the poin for us.

Hmm, so what does it mean for the Macromedia MX products? Is it going to be discontinued, or be just more expensive?

didnt adobe try to sue macromedia a few years ago?

i'd much rather see macromedia acquire adobe... but that will never happen

This is quite the undesirable proposition. I hope they dont ruin dreamweaver, Dreamweaver's ability to itegrate so well with php/mySQL is great. I can't see Adobe doing anything good with it, considering how bad goLive is, and how poorly it really implements web development. Atleast we'll get a export to Flash option in Illistrator.

I'd be willing to bet Adobe drops GoLive, and rolls some features into Dreamweaver. I've used GoLive for quite some time now, and like it fine. Never used Dreamweaver, so maybe I don't know what I'm missing?

Holy crap! Just when I thought Macromedia products were the cheaper alternative! How could the FCC allow this? Adobe is the Microsoft of its business...in other words, a monopoly!!!

Remember folks, this is Adobe buying MM, not a merger. Adobe can(and probably will) pick their products over MM's where there's overlap.

as a flash developer whos having to deal with my graphics guy who loves his adobe products all i can say is halelujah!!!
hopefully now we can get a true File-Export-to fla in both illustrator and photoshop
Adobe had a weekness in their web componets divison and now they've totoally gone and changed the game so i say more power to this merger so long as they dont do away with flash or director or dreamweaver or coldfusion. Doing away with ANY of those would make this a dead deal

ColdFusion is so dead it's not even funny. The only people still using it are those who invested in its pricey server software X years ago and have no option but to save face and keep running it. It's too bad - was great technology that priced itself out of the running...

With that said - I do hope Adobe puts a recharge into it, but with Adobe's history, there's no sign of that happening.
