I finally got my Jot Script today, just a few thoughts after some initial testing.
I ordered mine directly from adonit.net and their site showed 1-2 weeks wait time from order date to ship -- mine took 4 weeks to ship so keep that in mind if you order from them.
The packaging is pretty nice. It's a clear hard plastic case with clips to hold the stylus in place. It could be used for storing it, but is probably a little big to toss in a bag.
It's about 1 inch longer than the Wacom Bamboo stylus I've been using but I think it's actually lighter than the Bamboo even with the required AAA battery (included BTW).
It paired immediately to my iPad Air and you can start writing immediately. I've tried it in Penultimate and the Bamboo Paper app so far and it works great in both of them. Penultimate does have palm rejection which is important for me since I'm left handed. Using Bamboo paper I would find myself erasing part of what I wrote because my palm would hit the screen.
There is a kind of clicking noise when I write, but it's due to the material used for the tip. It's not a rubber tip so you get the sound of the stylus hitting the screen each time you pick it up and put it back down while writing. It's not a big deal to me but I could where it might cause some distractions if you use it to take notes during a meeting or in a quiet classroom.
There seems to be a little bit of a delay when writing using Penultimate. It's very brief but noticeable. If you zoom in on the page the delay is less noticeable but you have to deal with the page scrolling as you write. The side scrolling seemed almost too fast for me and I felt like I was being rushed across the screen instead of scrolling as I get near the end of the line. I haven't found a way in Penultimate settings to adjust the scroll speed yet so I'm not sure if this can be changed.
The small tip does indeed make it easier to write more precisely than a regular rubber-tipped stylus. My handwriting is generally pretty bad but I was able to write out sentences or long notes much easier with the fine point.
It's very comfortable to hold and having the rings around the grip make it easier to hold on to and feel like a regular pen. All in all I think it was worth the $75.
