Star War: Knights of the Old Republic rocks! Although I am not sure if this fits into the Adventure category.

All of the above, agreed... but Dark Fall... this one http://www.xxvproductions.co.uk/darkfall/dowerton.html was quite good! And very scarey!

That looks amazing! Thanks for the link.
On a side note... is the adventure game genre really dead? I'm starting to believe that it's not. It's just not the most popular genre anymore, which seems to be RTS and FPS.

Not a problem... agree that it's not dead. Just not as popular and more difficult to find good ones. Will have to get Syberia II down the road. Didn't play Dark Fall myself... the wife played it. I watched and listened... there were a number of sections that just scared the wits outta her! She'd shut the game down and walk away for a bit, too fearful of opening a certain door! Spooky.
The success of Syberia helped to liven things up for the genre.
I've used this forum before for that genre of gaming...
I don't play any of the modern graphic "click-and-point" games but I'm really fond of 80s classic texture adventures like Zork, Adventure and similar. What do you guys think of this genre? Ive never played one and wonder what your thoughts are.
RPGs focus on character development and also use a lot of random values to calculate various outcomes.Actually what's the difference between a RPG and adventure?

A bit more on the action side, but the new Legacy of Kain: Defiance is a great game. I am 4+ hours into it and it is great. Alternate play as both Kain and Raziel, each with their own roles in the same storyline (tho 500 years apart in time in the beginning). My only complaint is the view system (no freelook ) I would actually recommend all the games in the Legacy of Kain series.
I was a HUGE fan of the original Tomb Raider and even the 2nd one was good. I liked the puzzle aspects and the limited combat.
As mentioned before, Resident Evil series is great as well. Ah, I wish I had enough time to play all these games I have.
"Adventure fans simply can?t go wrong with the newest addition to the Myst saga. Certainly sharing in its share of the problems, URU also shares in a lot of the glory and truly shines as a single player game to remember. Its multiplayer ? URU Live is not yet complete, but rest assured, you and your friends will be able to meet up online in no time and share in one of the greatest stories ever written. What the game lacks in game play, it quickly gains with its mind numbing problems, storyline and visuals."
