ditto. If you were so inclined, you could research and find exact weapon stats, but they weren't staring you in the face everyime you opened up your inventory. No Ebony Broadsword 35-55 slashing +8 Fire damage for 3 seconds. The system Origin used made the game seem more real, lifelike. You chose a weapon because a) you could afford it b) you were somewhat skilled at using it and c) from your PERSONAL experience using it, it seemed to work better than others. An excellent RPG, the first game I ever seriously played (thus beginning a life-long addiction)

Adventure games aren't dead yet, but the decline of LucasArts has certainly left a huge void in the genre. IMO Escape from Monkey Island was a pale shadow of their former work. Of late the best games have come to the U.S. courtesy of European developers.

As mentioned by previous posters, the best post-Grim Fandango releases were The Longest Journey and Syberia. Besides those two you might also try Post Mortem, Broken Sword: The Sleeping Dragon, and Runaway: A Road Adventure. I don't think any of them are TLJ-caliber, but they're still worth a try.

Hey you guys that posted things which alluded to Morrowind... what did you think of the game? I bought the GOTY edition when it came out, but I haven't beaten it yet b/c of lack of time to play. There are a lot of numbers involved, but I do think it's a rather amazing game. Certainly there are some things that could be improved though!

It's a great game, but I found it very hard to get in to.
