Score over 16K? Are you talking about 3DMark? Don't base your system around getting the highest 3DMark scores. In fact, don't base your system around any one benchmakr, even if it is a game you play often. You will eventually put different games on your system and will regret that you didn't use a wider variety of benchmarks to determine the correct hardware for you.

Garaunteed 16K? I can't garauntee it but this system will perform extremely fast if you overclock:

Gigabyte 8INXP motherboard $220 (avail late dec 2002/early jan 2003)

Two OCZ 256MB PC3500 Enhanced Latency (EL) Memory Modules $220

Intel Pentium4 2.4B processor with C1 stepping (make sure you get the one with "C1 Stepping" in the product description) $210

ATi 9700 Pro Graphics Card ~$310

8INXP offers dual-channel DDR. About even with RDRAM when operating at DDR266, but as you increase the FSB, the DDR speed increases rite along with it. That is, you would be significantly increasing the gap between your system and a RDRAM system as you increase the FSB. 8INXP is capable of Dual-Channel DDR400 (and a little higher). Also you have the option to upgrade to 800MHz QDR FSB Prescott processor in the future. This OCZ memory is engineered with high Dual-Channel DDR performance as its' main goal. Now you're ready to overclock!

DO NOT GET THE OCZ MEMORY, look around and you will find a lot of people having problems with them. Get Corsair XMS or Samsung instead, much better quality wise.

Hello, WTT0001. I've searched all over the internet and haven't seen anybody having problems with the OCZ PC3500 Enhanced Latency (EL) memory modules - only rave reviews. When you say "people having problems with them", are you talking about OCZ memory in general or specifically OCZ PC3500 Enhanced Latency memory modules? And can you provide me with direct links to people having problems with the OCZ Enhanced Latency (EL) memory modules? Thanx.

I'm still looking but here is one thread here. Look at the last comment.

Edit: Reseller Rating., just browse through the comments about memory. The 2nd one was a negative about Pc2700 being only to get PC1600.

I'm aware that OCZ has had its' problems in the past but isn't also possible that they have engineered something good. Some companies have one stellar product but the rest of their stuff is junk. I have yet to see a bad comment made with respect to OCZ PC3500 Enhanced Latency memory, only bad things said about past OCZ memory. Is it not possible that OCZ has turned over a new leaf. Maybe they have. Maybe they haven't. ATi has pushed out some bad drivers in the past but now they're devoted to better drivers, still need to continue to improve. Maybe by all the criticism they devoted themselves to better quality. Wouldn't it be better to judge each product individually instead of focusing on the manufacturer, judging all their products as a whole. What are your thoughts?

I am not flaming you, but why do you want to build a system for running benchmarks?

Please stop with the OCZ bigotry. I have OCZ PC2700 Revision 3.2 DDR and it can overclock like a mofo even @ cas2 1T 4 bank interleave.
