I just got a bunch of new storage today 1 ea Fantom Greendrive Esata External 2tb
and a 1.5 tb WD15EARS w/ 64mb Cache. I usually manage my system and os's through partitioning and storing nothing on my C:// drive aside from the OS and installed software this way I can change reformat ugrade/downgrade at will and not lose anything. My question is this; should I go about getting my boot/OS partition on my new HDD(1.5 WD15EARS) or leave it where it is now, i.e. 150GB partition of one of the 640's. I guess I'm wondering if the extra 32 MB of Cache will better serve my system with the primary partition/os using the 64, or is it better suited as a secondary storage drive aiding in data transfer of larger files?
Am I making any sense at all?
Thanks in advance for your help.

it is better suited as secondary storage

Sweet, I was hoping that was the case. this'll be much easier to do now. I have room in my case for two or three more drives, i was going to pull the 500 but... whenever I do that whatever drive gets pulled becomes surplus to requirements, hence junk.I just can't imagine need 3+ TB but then I couldn't imagine needing 100 gb just a few short years ago I guess I'll leave it for now, or maybe throw together an HTPC. I just moved into a larger home and am figuring out how best to manage my entertainment media, which all resides on my computer.
I SPDIF out to an Onkyo receiver.
I'm reaching the point where I probably shouldn't have my computer set up in the living room. Currently I'm just cranking it up from my office/spare bedroom. I need to devise something elegant and slick like a robust home media server, which feeds say an htpc in the den/theater. and perhaps a micropc or laptop kept discretely in the living room. I just need to make sure that wireless home networks have matured enough to handle the necessary traffic, otherwise I'll be laying cable. Which is what I've always had to do thus far as wireless has never really quite cut it. * crosses fingers*
