I bought Uncharted 2 & 3 at the same time. Started U2 about 10 days ago and finished a few days ago. Now around 2/3rd through Uncharted 3.
I have to say they really are nowhere near as good as last of us. They're pretty, and some levels are very impressively done like the sinking ship in Uncharted 3. However, fun factor is just not there. Stealth is basically not a factor in combat, and the game is constantly resetting weapons, forcing you down a very tight path of what it wants you to engage enemies with. Some of the mechanics are annoying as all hell, too. I'm thinking in particular of a large theater room on the cruise ship. When in combat I was jumping around a lot up and down through the room and the damn character insisted, at the absolute worst times, to grab on to the bottom of things. He's now hanging around 2' off the ground while getting shot. Drove me to all kinds of curse words constantly with this behavior.
The story is utter rubbish as well (both games). The characters are interesting but in all cases the story is like any other story of made up faux history nonsense; there's no real rhyme or reason of it and the only way you know you're progressing along is because of how far through the game you are; everything is just one other piece of a random puzzle thrown together. I guess this may be me, though. I don't give a rat's ass about weird stories wound around bits of antiquity.
I mainly play through these because they are pretty and each environment is very well done, with great attention to detail. I can't imagine for a second playing either game again, though.
I think I enjoyed TR more. I will rent uncharted 4, though. They are good games, but feel far too much on rails and in general I think overrated.
