Okay here is the scoop.
I will be seperating from the USAF in less than a year. I am trying to decide my next career move. Right now I am working as an Aircraft Electrician. I already have my degree on International Relation and working on my MS on Computer Info. Tech. I have about 8 classes to go before obtaining the MS.
I am thinking about becoming a weekend worrior joining the reserves. I am looking to cross train into Bio-Med Equipment Maintenance. I don't know if that's a good idea or not. Should I cross-train into a computer field job so that it could complement with my computer degree? I believe bio-med equip maint. is a very lucritive and high in demand field. So if I can't get a good job in the computer field (since I don't have much real working experience on computers) then I could have this as my backup plan. I did network administrator for 3 years before I enlisted. All I have is the A+ cert. Can I somehow combine these 2 fields together?
I have been stationed oversea for the past 4 years and I have no idea of how the job market is right now back home ( Southern CA). I am not looking of applying for an officer yet.. I want to try the civilian world first.
I am getting out because I want to try something else. Military is great! But we don't have a lot of choices. I like to go to the gym on my own time. I like to travel around during the weekend without getting someone's approval first.
I'd like to know you guys' opinions.
thanks in advance.
By the way I will be turning 28 in Dec. I don't know if age is important or not
