It should be said that I'm under the umbrella of a union at the moment which is a great thing.

A certain district manager, however, has been rubbing me wrong ever since a specific incident occurred this year.

I was slated to head out on a business trip to Philadelphia from California in May for corporate training and I missed the flight. I've had a long standing issue with flying, for whatever reason, and I couldn't get myself on the plane that day; missing the flight entirely. (I have since made it out to corporate training twice)

About 30 minutes after my plane had left, I get a call from Mr. District a**hole. His first words were, where are you and where is the money. I told him I had missed my flight and that I was on my way to work. I asked him what money he might be referring to, to which he replied, your money for the plane ticket. I just didn't think he would have been so stupid as to inquire, it's in the form of a plane ticket jack f*ck.

After sitting there trying to figure out just who this guy thought he was trying to scare, I proceeded to tell him I just missed my flight by mistake and let my direct manager know the real deal about my issue with flying when I got to work.

Before leaving work that day the district manager calls me and told me he didn't appreciate being lied to????????

Being that the guy works in another office about 50 miles away from me, I really don't know the dude nor dose he have much say in what goes on at my desk. I say sorry, blah blah blah, won't happen again (eat a dick), kissed ass and sent an e-mail stating the same. I figure he's in my pocket and don't think twice about it.

In all honesty, this incident left me wanting to kick the sh*t of this man though. How do you question someone's integrity when your poor communication makes him avoid you entirely??? Were the a** kissing e-mail's not evidence enough I want nothing to do with your bullsh*t?????

Fast forward to last week, I get writen up on neglegence for leaving a safe open (honest mistake, I thought it was shut and it's the only safe in our office) with the contents of less than $200 dollars and digital camera.

Turns out the office accountant (40+ year old b*tch who's screwing the district manager, and won't ever stop talking to me about her grand children whom she knows I don't give a sh*t about) snitched me out. I figured it was the case, as she opens her mouth about everyone, I don't pay her much respect so why should she treat me any differently right?

My direct manager was literally shaking when he handed me the write up. He says no way would he hand me such a harsh punishment, but because of this white trash, life hating hag who's screwing the district manager, I get writen up with ZERO verbal warning of any form by guess who, THE SAME DISTRICT A**HOLE.

I place a call to him after I leave work; he forwarded my calls to his voicemail three times before he picked up. He finally picks up, sounded entirely unhappy to be talking to me so I ask for a reason as to why he'd write me up for a safe with the contents of less than a third of what I make in one week. I've done great work for this company and have a great reputation with the people directly involved with me every day.

This motherf*cker plays the politician and tells me we need to put these things on paper, all the while, not stating it was mandatory in any way shape or form. I ask again, sir, you're not telling me why you didn't follow typical business consideration in not issuing a verbal warning; I've done nothing wrong thus far and continue a solid performance history.

He then tells me he had to do SOMETHING, he couldn't just do NOTHING.

At that point I say to myself f*k this guy, he's a piece of sh*t and he's letting me know it. I ask him three times, is that really all you have to say sir??? He states he's willing to move forward, forget the situation and let me go about business as usual. I of course know this, because I'm impressive in the workplace.

He states the same reason, AGAIN, to which I reply " ok " and hang up.

Two seconds later my phone rings and it's the a**hole calling me back. I'm thinking he's going to say something to make this better . . ., WRONG.

Him: " SO YOU HANG UP ON ME???? IF YOU REALLY WANT TO SEE ME MAD FUCKER YOU DO WHAT YOU JUST DID. IF YOU DON'T WANT TO BE ACCOUNTABLE I'LL FIND SOMEONE THAT WILL "

Me : " If asking you three times is not the end of our convo, I don't think I should be talking to you anymore. I handle this with someone else. "

Me: " CLICK "

He didn't call back.

My question is, how do you present this to a union??? Secondly, when I go to corporate, what's my best approach on dealing with this piece of sh*t????? I know for a fact *EVERYONE* hates this man. He is currently undergoing a lawsuit for firing someone on false pretense and he's trying to get my attention at this point, coaxing me to do something wrong it would seem.

You missed the plane because you don't like flying, and you seem to be an idiot, your fault and you deserve mostly everything that's coming to you.

Thank god your career that you're in a union, because otherwise you'd be fired.

The way you present it to the union is to tell your union steward what happened. That's all there is to it.

You seem to have an inordinate amount of anger for your workplace. Maybe it would be easier to find another place to work and leave all that drama behind.

I don't know man...you missed the flight and you left the safe opened. Is it written in stone that you have to be issued a warning before being cited for negligence? If not, then the district manager was within his rights. Good luck, man.

Even without Cliffs, you're a terrible employee and a liar. You deserve to have your ass canned for attitude alone. The incompetence and dishonesty are merely icing on the cake.

You missed the flight and then lied about it. You wonder why the DM is pissed at you? Then you violate company policy and have the nerve to call the DM and complain to him about getting a write up? Then you hang up on him after he tells you water under the bridge, lets move on.

You sound like the douche bag to me.

This thread isn't going to end well.

Not much you can do about it. You're on somebody's shit list (and rightfully so). Only way to do anything is find another job and not keep screwing up when you get there.

wait a minute, so you just completely decided you didnt want to fly, with no warning, or anything to anyone?

sounds like your a problem for them... you know how much it costs to get a flight changed? you dont typically get refunds from airlines either...

Thanks Ryan, I love you too baby, *kisses*.

Fear of flying Lazy. Didn't anticipate an inability to get on a plane. Last time I was on one was when I was 5 or 6, it was an issue then, but mom wasn't there to force me on the plane this time.

The training goes on 4 times a year guys . . . Mr. A**hole said he'd be willing to send me by train if he had to, I'm thinkin it wasn't that big a deal. If it was a big deal, he would have wrote me up for it right????

If he can write me up for pennies and a safe the size of a postal machine, he'd of done so for the flight if it mattered.

He was *only* worried about my plane ticket money, which means he questioned my integrity.

You're in deep now. He's going to try to have you fired and he will make up a reason for it (you didn't do anything to warrant it that we know of). So go to HR and the union and let them know how he swore at you, didn't follow protocol, etc. Given his history you might not get the boot. But I wouldn't count on it.

You sound like the ass. You made the company pay money to miss a flight that you didn't know you could get on. You then proceed to leave a safe open. Who cares about the contents? You didn't do your own job and you didn't proceed as your job outlines. You are not doing your job and your company is increasing its risk factor and losing money because of you. This is your fault and you deserve to get bitched at. If you can't take it, then quit your job. You're lucky you haven't been fired already.

I didn't cost them a dime. Once I knew this guy was a problem, I gave him the entire cost of my flight out of my own money to avoid any hastle.

I then re-booked the same ticket, a simple $150 dollar fee, when I was ready to go.

They paid the actual ticket price as they do for everyone in the company. Fortuneately for me, it was $200 dollars cheaper this month to get out there than it was in May, so I actually got away with $50 bucks.

Honestly, I haven't finished reading your post yet (will), but that line just made me think of this:

Where's my money?
