It should be said that I'm under the umbrella of a union at the moment which is a great thing.
A certain district manager, however, has been rubbing me wrong ever since a specific incident occurred this year.
I was slated to head out on a business trip to Philadelphia from California in May for corporate training and I missed the flight. I've had a long standing issue with flying, for whatever reason, and I couldn't get myself on the plane that day; missing the flight entirely. (I have since made it out to corporate training twice)
About 30 minutes after my plane had left, I get a call from Mr. District a**hole. His first words were, where are you and where is the money. I told him I had missed my flight and that I was on my way to work. I asked him what money he might be referring to, to which he replied, your money for the plane ticket. I just didn't think he would have been so stupid as to inquire, it's in the form of a plane ticket jack f*ck.
After sitting there trying to figure out just who this guy thought he was trying to scare, I proceeded to tell him I just missed my flight by mistake and let my direct manager know the real deal about my issue with flying when I got to work.
Before leaving work that day the district manager calls me and told me he didn't appreciate being lied to????????
Being that the guy works in another office about 50 miles away from me, I really don't know the dude nor dose he have much say in what goes on at my desk. I say sorry, blah blah blah, won't happen again (eat a dick), kissed ass and sent an e-mail stating the same. I figure he's in my pocket and don't think twice about it.
In all honesty, this incident left me wanting to kick the sh*t of this man though. How do you question someone's integrity when your poor communication makes him avoid you entirely??? Were the a** kissing e-mail's not evidence enough I want nothing to do with your bullsh*t?????
Fast forward to last week, I get writen up on neglegence for leaving a safe open (honest mistake, I thought it was shut and it's the only safe in our office) with the contents of less than $200 dollars and digital camera.
Turns out the office accountant (40+ year old b*tch who's screwing the district manager, and won't ever stop talking to me about her grand children whom she knows I don't give a sh*t about) snitched me out. I figured it was the case, as she opens her mouth about everyone, I don't pay her much respect so why should she treat me any differently right?
My direct manager was literally shaking when he handed me the write up. He says no way would he hand me such a harsh punishment, but because of this white trash, life hating hag who's screwing the district manager, I get writen up with ZERO verbal warning of any form by guess who, THE SAME DISTRICT A**HOLE.
I place a call to him after I leave work; he forwarded my calls to his voicemail three times before he picked up. He finally picks up, sounded entirely unhappy to be talking to me so I ask for a reason as to why he'd write me up for a safe with the contents of less than a third of what I make in one week. I've done great work for this company and have a great reputation with the people directly involved with me every day.
This motherf*cker plays the politician and tells me we need to put these things on paper, all the while, not stating it was mandatory in any way shape or form. I ask again, sir, you're not telling me why you didn't follow typical business consideration in not issuing a verbal warning; I've done nothing wrong thus far and continue a solid performance history.
He then tells me he had to do SOMETHING, he couldn't just do NOTHING.
At that point I say to myself f*k this guy, he's a piece of sh*t and he's letting me know it. I ask him three times, is that really all you have to say sir??? He states he's willing to move forward, forget the situation and let me go about business as usual. I of course know this, because I'm impressive in the workplace.
He states the same reason, AGAIN, to which I reply " ok " and hang up.
Two seconds later my phone rings and it's the a**hole calling me back. I'm thinking he's going to say something to make this better . . ., WRONG.
Him: " SO YOU HANG UP ON ME???? IF YOU REALLY WANT TO SEE ME MAD FUCKER YOU DO WHAT YOU JUST DID. IF YOU DON'T WANT TO BE ACCOUNTABLE I'LL FIND SOMEONE THAT WILL "
Me : " If asking you three times is not the end of our convo, I don't think I should be talking to you anymore. I handle this with someone else. "
Me: " CLICK "
He didn't call back.
My question is, how do you present this to a union??? Secondly, when I go to corporate, what's my best approach on dealing with this piece of sh*t????? I know for a fact *EVERYONE* hates this man. He is currently undergoing a lawsuit for firing someone on false pretense and he's trying to get my attention at this point, coaxing me to do something wrong it would seem.
