Aero Blower Questions

I have a Swiftech MCX462+ with an Antec LED fan on top. Now it looks nice, but since the fan hardly pushes any air, the CPU temps have been getting very high, especially with this heat here (106F). I am thinking of getting a more powerful fan and this Cooler Master Aero fan lookes good, but I would like definite advice on whether to get it or get something else. I know a bunch of you will start saying to get the Panaflo's, but I want something a little different. This fan looks like it could fit the bill, but I do not know whether or not it would out perform the Antec LED fan (I would hope so, but I am not sure as it pushes only 10-27cfm).

Also, would I need a fan shroud?

This is the fan i've been looking at getting (along with the HS). I've read as many reviews as i can find on it, and here's my take so far..

Noise:
at full speed, its a bit noisy, but turn it down just a tad, and you get great cooling with minimal noise. All the reviewers said the noise is from the rushing air, not any high pitched fan whining or anything like that.

Cooling: All the reviews i've read put this right at the top of the heap, even with the SLK-900 + high CFM fan, despite the Aero 7's low CFM rating. They all say this is because of the much greater air pressure it produces over normal axial fans, and also because it eliminates/reduces the "deadzone" in the center that most axial fans have, which is generally the hottest area on the heatsink. You can also change the orientation of the fan on the heatsink to best fit your cooling setup.

Appearance: Its a pretty unique design, and IMO looks pretty sweet.

Cons: With the Aero 7 non Plus version, some cases/mobos had problems with the thumb clip used to attach the heatsink (instead of a screwdriver), it was too big and had to be bent. The aero 7+ supposedly fixed this problem. The front panel mount for the fan control doesn't fit very well (the PCI slot mount works fine).

Price: I've seen it around $30-$35 + shipping for the HS and fan, which is a pretty good price considering how well it seems to perform.

Of all the reviews I read, the tests were performed with the stock heatsink that comes with the aero 7+. So I don't know how'd it perform with a different heatsink. Remember, this is just my opinion based off what i've read.. i haven't actually had any experience with it yet, but it looks like the one i'm gonna get.

Thanks for the input. I am interested not in the Aero 7+ which is the Aero blower plus the heatsink, but I just want the blower to put on top of my Swiftech MCX462+. I would figure the pressure would be higher than that of the LED fan, and I really do not care about noise unless it is as loud as a Delta or Tornado fan as my room fan drowns the other fans out. During the winter when it is quieter I could always switch back to the LED fan.

Sounds like that might fit the bill better. But the Aero looks so cool!

Any more input?

Well I couldn't take it any longer, my Athlon XP @ 1.76GHz up from 1.46GHz with the LED fan on the MCX ran around 60C which is too high for my liking, so I just went out and got a Smart Fan2, I really like its adjustable RPM thing. Right now I have it on max since the temps are around 41C outside:Q so under load, my CPU is now only 51C, a drop of about 9-10C which is quite good IMO. Then once the temps around here cool down, so will the RPMs for the fan and it can be dead quiet when I want it to be.
