Aerocool AeroRacer Pro with 400mm Side fan

The case isn't perfect but after using a few cases with the 25cm fans I love the idea of a 40cm fan. I hope this idea really takes off as it is really a wonderful solution for overall motherboard cooling(mosfets & such).

LOL, who would buy this? You should just take off the side panel of your normal case and put a wall socketed fan up to it... Turn it on high... same effect. lol

I actually used to have to do this with my old Athlon (Socket A) rig. During the summer, I'd just take off the side panel and set a box fan blowing into it. Without that fan blowing full speed, I'd have stability and crashing issues, even at the stock clockspeeds and voltages I was running.

There is another case like that with a 360mm side fan and the fan way overpowers the case (someone reviewed it and it showed much poorer cooling than would be expected). There has to be a lot more venting for air to escape to use a large fan like that. Take a look at the XClio WT (WindTunnel) or Tagan Monolith (really the same case) to see a case with adequate venting for the included dual 250mm fans. There is also a WT advanced with a 200mm fan in the top, but the extra fan is totally superfluous.

Sheesh - 400mm eh?

Might as well mount an automotive radiator in there! :laugh:

With a slow fan and no grille it probably would be a good foot massager. (Or at least with the breeze it would dry wet nails in a jiffy!)
