So no, can't really agree with you until the benchmarks can agree with each other. Frankly, I'm more inclined to take Anand over Toms - Toms has been on a steady downhill roll over the past couple years IMO.
What's more, I'm betting that 10-15% is overhead processing to make two seperate cards work together. Let's face it - a 6600GT is exactly half a 6800GT, 2 of them giving 1.9 the performance is not surprising. I wouldn't be surprised if, through further refinements of the technology, Nvidia was able to reduce that overhead over time, bringing us even closer to a true "double up".
But then, hey, who needs empirical evidence.
And as we already discussed, this varies depending on who you talk to.

There was a problem that I could not fix and it was simply a limitation of one of any number of things (or a combination therein) The drives, or controller, or drivers would give me horrible write performance where my read performance would skyrocket to what normal RAID0 should be at, and that?s generally around the area of %50. This was a RAID0 gone badly, so I am in single drive mode because of that. Does that mean RAID0 is bad? No, it means RAID0 did not function _as it should_.

the 10x doesnt matter if you have a good setup. The money you save buying a 3000+ and not a 3200+ allows one to more easily get that 'good' setup. Then overall your entire system will last longer.
