Affordable Crossfire Solution

Not too long ago I purchase a ATI 4850, I'm very satisfied with it. I am now considering an upgrade to SLI, which will mean a new motherboard. Im looking for suggestions for an affordable motherboard upgrade for this project.

Current relevent Specs:

AMD 5000 (black box edition running at 3000)
Visiontek 4850
2gb DDR2 800 RAM
SATA 350 gb HD
XP pro OS

Your message title has crossfire and your message text indicates SLI.

SO, to SLI you will need two new Nvidia based video cards, to crossfire you are somewhat limited in your mother board choices for a solution with an AMD CPU.

DW, depending on the games you play, getting another HD4850 and going crossfire will give you a 10-15% improvement, if that. What's the native
resolution of your monitor? If it's 1680x1050 or less, I'd say don't bother with the dual VGA cards.
In additon, tech forums or customer feedbacks are full of complaints about how a board that performs great with one card will stop working in crossfire mode so
it's hard to recommend anything as 100% guaranteed to work. However you may want to look at MSI K9A2 CF-F V2, it should be about $90-110.
