eBay one and tailor it up. DO NOT buy a SHIT department store one. You're just shooting yourself in the foot and throwing your cash into a flame. It's stupid.

Sounds like fishy advice. Why would you buy a suit without trying it on? Tailoring can only go so far with small adjustments.

True tailors can tailor anything that is reasonably within your size. Unless the pants/sleeves are too short, a tailor can make-do.

Although the FIT of a suit is the most important element, the close 2nd is a shit brand like Kenneth Cole, Calvin Klein, etc.. they will fall apart instantly, and they naturally look incredibly cheap (hence China make crap that isn't even wool). I would take 1 nice Zegna suit that I bought off eBay over a closet full of department store junk.

even a good tailor can't tailor the shoulder pads if it's too big on his body; redoing the shoulder pads is like building the whole suit jacket from ground zero.

Make sure the shoulders fits, everything else, a good tailor can fix, but it will be expensive.

For wedding, but I'd like to wear it as a standard suit jacket, in business/work as well.

I prefer slim fit, size 42 chest. I'm willing to spend $100.

Parent's cousin's wedding I guess. I'd also like to be able to wash the suit jacket in laundry machine.

if your budget is $60-$80 i would simply wear a long sleeve dress shirt and not even bother with a piece of shit cheap jacket. tailoring alone will run you more than that.

Cotton is the only suit fabric that can be machine washed (and you really shouldn't), it needs to be unlined and with no canvassing. But cotton suits are very casual, not meant for weddings or business environments that require suits.

get a dress shirt because that budget will not buy you any kind of blazer worth wearing.

I get my suits from suitsupply, it's great quality at a great price (not Savile Row's finest, but the quality is comparable to several thousand dollar suits).

Men's Warehouse and Joseph Banks are always having sales around here. I don't know if you have either one around you. Sometimes you can get a good deal from them.
