Hey guys, long time lurker and admittedly AMD biased occasional poster here. I've been away at University (computer engineering class of 2018) for the past three years and have been working summers as well and I have to say I've learned quite a lot since I've been gone. One thing is that as consumers, we are QUITE crappy people. The level of pain and suffering developers and hardware manufacturers have to go through to get things to enjoyable for us consumers is absolutely mind boggling and to be honest, the stuff we discuss and the derivations we do on here are dwarfed by the effort they put in. We should all be in awe of what they have accomplished so far and what they continue to do and us fighting over who's better is honestly missing the point. Fall break rant over.

We should also be in awe with what engineers have been able to achieve in a smartphone such as the Note 7, however one major flawed marketing & engineering decision produced such ripples down the product design and testing cycle that in the end the product is downright dangerous to consumers.

Maybe this forum should do more to acknowledge and respect the 99% of hard work done by developers and hardware manufacturers, but that doesn't mean it should stop looking for those 1% of bad decisions and/or sloppy work that can and eventually will hurt consumers.

Meanwhile we have to live with the rather mediocre signal-to-noise ratio of the forum. Damn double edged swords.

As someone who works in medical (cancer detection/screening) I'm constantly reminded how much we take things for granted. Nothing like a positive-screening to remind you just how lucky you can be.

Why I don't get the in-fighting around here (and most internet forums). People lived so closed in their bubbles they tend to forget just how fortunate they may be. Louis CK nails it:
