When people see big muscles they just assume you are compensating for something...
And people make comments like this to compensate for their lack of muscle and women.

A full-body provides a better hormonal response for growth. I've experienced a great deal of strength gain on a full-body done 3x/week.

Sorry, but I gotta disagree. Especially for someone going heavy and to failure.

You shouldn't be going to failure often. That will lead to neural fatigue and over training. The symptoms are disrupted sleep patterns, slow concentrics, irritability, etc.

Lifting weight is a stressful activity, in that it adds stress to the body and over doing it consistently leads to the same potential neural breakdown.

So then it becomes not a matter of lifting full-body 3x/week, but rather lifting stupidly: to failure, without a good plan/program, etc.

And as far as the older you get nonsense you're spouting, I know a 58yr old man, hasn't missed a workout in years, deadlifting 405, >300 for reps, does a full-body 3x/week.

I'm 42 and doing pretty well. So before you start saying we over 30s are getting to old to be doing this, you need to check your attitude and prejudice.

I'll be 40 this year. I know a bit about over-training.

And I believe my results speak for themselves. You can try and claim I lift "stupidly" but in reality, I minimize everything except intensity. Frequency, sets and reps are all minimized and intensity is maximized.

BTW, I'm 100% natural having taken only Creatine and Protien...

But apparently I'm lifting stupid and don't know what I'm doing, right?

Amused, I'm 1 year older then you (turned 40 last Sept) and have most likely been lifting much longer then you (been lifting since early 80's). By looking at your pics I will say you have good development for a natural, but you are far from being "genetically gifted" as you claim. I would say your arm is about 17" in circumference and, would be far more impressive if there were more definition and separation in your arm. I'm sure you know as well as I do that young kids on a internet forum may be impressed by a little bit of development, but in the gyms where I go, you would be considered small, even by natural standards. I just find it funny that every time there is a post about weightlifting you feel you have to chime in and cause a big argument about who know's what. You look like I did BEFORE I started training with weights back in the early 80's. I clearly am not Amused.

Actually, my arms are just over 19"

I don't worry about cutting very much. I'm don't compete and I don't think BF under 10% is very healthy for me. My BF stays around 15% where I feel healthiest.

As for the rest, you're full of sh!t. Very few people bigger than me are natural.

You're fully welcome to come lift with me and see for yourself.

Gold's Gym in Springfield, IL. I'm there most weekdays midmorning.

Finally, even ExRx.com points out that less than 20% of men are genetically able to naturally put on signifigant muscle. Even fewer are able to get very large. So yes, I am genetically gifted. Other gifts include a small waist and wrists that make me look proportionately larger.

That's very interesting to hear you claim a 19" arm, because a few years back I had my flexed upper arm measured to be about 19.75 at a bodyweight close to what I am now (225lbs) and It looks like night and day. You look about 190lbs in your pic, so that would be a 35lb difference in bodyweight. Also, the average circumference of a mans head is 22 inches, so if we do simple comparison between your arm and your head, we see that the difference is quite drastic. Certainly not within 3" of circumference. But anyway, forget all that, you can claim anything you want.

I don't know where you are getting your facts from when you say that people who are bigger then you are not natural. I assume where you live there are a lot of skinny guys so that a guy who is over 180lbs seems huge to everyone else. Before I moved to the City I was raised on a farm, where everyone worked their chores in the morning before they went to school. Like I said, I was your size before I even touched a weight. Of course you don't compete, because you would get laughed off the stage. You flash a bicep that is devoid of definition and seperation and run off like you are some kind of genetic freak. lol. If you are ever in Calgary, AB pm me and I will get you a pass to workout at BJ's Gym. One of the most hard-core gyms you will ever visit. Just don't pull the delusional crap on the regulars there as like myself, they won't buy it for one second.

Bottom line: Nobody likes a no-it-all. For once I would like to be able to enjoy a thread about weightlifting/bodybuilding without having to see your name spewn throughout. You are becoming a cancer and people are getting sick of it.

Um, I'm 6' and currently 220-225 lbs. I was about 215 at the time of those pics.

Thos pics were taken unpumped on an offday, while screwing around with a GF. I was drinking at the time, not working out. They only exist because I was drunk and she was hot. I don't much like pictures and am FAR from vain.

The genetics that allow to me to get large naturally have NOTHING to do with my BF percentage. I never claimed to be a cutting diet guru and ALWAYS defer when people come to me for cutting advice.

That you confuse size and muscle mass with cutting and definition just lets anyone who knows anything about this sport know you're full of sh!t. I HAVE cut down to below 8% BF on more than one occasion and it did not feel healthy. Why would I do something unhealthy to myself when I started working out for my health in the first place?

You come to this thread with nothing but insults for me and no advice or input to the thread itself.

The cancer is within you. I suggest you address it instead of lashing out at others.

What I have posted is true. You are free to come measure me or shut the fsck up.

BTW, I just measured. My head is 23" at the temples.
