For a long time I've been using Afterburner to adjust my GPU's and video memory's clock speeds, usually down to save power. I'd typically keep the core clock at 650 MHz and the memory clock at 1000 MHz. (Amazingly, that's all that's needed to run Doom at 1080p60 with ultra settings most of the time.) Recently Afterburner has lost this ability. Both clock sliders go to 0 MHz after I click the check box, and when a graphically demanding program is running the core goes to 1300 MHz and the memory goes to 2000.
When did this happen? I recently updated the Crimson Relive drivers to 17.7.2. Then I played Overwatch for a few minutes and heard the PC's fans spin way up, more than they usually do when I play games. I closed Overwatch and the fans slowed down, but Afterburner could no longer adjust the clock speeds. In Addition, Afterburner also lost the ability to adjust the core voltage, power limit and temperature limit, although I don't adjust those often or at all. Interestingly, Afterburner is still monitoring the voltage, temperature and both clock speeds.
System specs:
OS: Windows 10 64-bit
graphics card: Radeon RX 480, 8 GB
driver version: Crimson ReLive 17.7.2
Afterburner version: 4.3.0.9267
