1) Republicans don't actually care about corruption - they care about winning.
2) Not that this is an excuse but everyone already knows Trump is a criminal so new news to this effect doesn't interest people as much.
They didn’t rule that way, they just decided to hear the case. Given their hostility to any attempt to control gun ownership I wouldn’t be shocked if they did, but they haven’t yet, and this decision came from the 5th circuit, who has pretty frequently been too insane even for this SCOTUS.I mean…SCOTUS literally just ruled that domestic abusers shouldn’t lose the ability to own/purchase firearms. Something about the “originalist intent” of the Constitution not defining any rights protecting women (lol). I guess tax evaders are much more dangerous than wife beaters in the eyes of the law.
