I splurged on this and regret it. The packaging looks neat and the soundtrack is great, but definitely not worth the extra $40 over the normal version. The in-game ring and cape are only marginally useful and are surpassed by level 20 or so.

Edit: don't get me wrong: in saying the collector's edition isn't worth it, I didn't mean to knock the quality of the actual game. On the contrary, this game is superb apart from some minor issues which are being corrected daily -- I'm having a blast with it. The simple fact that my character looks exactly like Glen Danzig is worth the monthly fee! (I plan on making my next one in the likeness of Rob Hetfield). The character creation template pretty much ensures you get a hesher of some sort which is ok in my book :evil:

I bought the regular edition and I regret it too. I found the game to be quite boring, and unpolished.

It's not gonna be anywhere near what WoW is but it's a fun game nonetheless. The females are anatomically correct (take the shirt off and you see boobies!)

I like the game so far. I am only level 28 assasin and level 11 dark templar. My only conern is how easy the pve grind is. You can level to max in a week(lvl 80). They made the game doable solo, which makes grouping very, very easy. Because of this, many people go solo and grouping is much less common than in WOW, EQ, guildwars, etc. This has thus far hurt the social aspect of the game. On the other hand, people on the pve servers seem friendly and more mature than I remember in other games. Maybe the MMO crew is starting to mature(maybe not).

Or maybe it's because the game has an M rating?

Well all im going to say is your 28, (im currently 48) Solo, yes, easy, not so much after 40. Grouping will level you much much mcuh ( maybe should add some more much's here) faster after about 43-45.

Love the game, but watch out, steep requirments to play, and (not naming names) not gear depenedent , its not, much more skill involved with the combat,combo system.

But at the moent its pretty unpolished, needs smany many bug fixes (waht MMORPG at launch didnt?). But I havent found any that bother me to much, just haveing fun!

I also agree, CE is not worth it, but for those who gotta have that stuff it was sold out, so good find!

There are free buddy trial codes in every box. I'm sure someone would give you one so you could try it out.

The buddy codes aren't active yet and I think you need the DVDs to install it. The directory itself is 25 gigs (lol)

You guys are boarder-line putting too much time into a game if you have characters that level already. As the loading menu says: "Remember to take some time to stretch your legs"

I ran into someone who was level 56 yesterday. Not doing the math, that's 5-6 hours every day since release. That's just utterly sad and pathetic. I do realize there are exploits, but that's sad too as you're just ruining your own fun: working hard to get to a high level over time is what makes games like these fun.

lol... I went through a time where I was in a pretty top end guild for pre BC WoW. The average players did 5-7 hour sessions which is pretty much a necessity for raiding, with some people hitting 9+ hours a day. We had everyone from med students to rocket scientists to stay at home moms in our group. I can't fathom how they managed their time like that.

Anyways I haven't played a MMO or any game since then. Conan has me curious but first half year of MMO's = beta garbage. I was wondering if the collectors ed is worth the bonuses. Something about XP bonus ring and free drinks.

There are actually quite a few lvl 80s. I think it only took a week or so for some to get there. But now those same players are complaining about being bored with the game because there isnt much to do.

I play the game in my free time and I still really like it! Although the one thing I do not care for is how the devs continuously make balance adjustments to the characters which CAN be considered nerfs. This is the only reason that Id consider stop playing the game.

Either way, I cant think of any reason post-launch to purchase the special edition. I would go with the regular as well.

I have a lvl 37 ranger now and there are alot of stupid bugs that should have been fixed in beta. Something fixed last week for example-- Money taken out of bank replaces current funds on character instead of adding it to total. There are plenty of quests that are broken too. It is kind of frustrating but I am still enjoying the game and plan to keep playing.

the game is basically still in beta. I can't go more than a couple of hours without encountering a bugged/incompletable quest. On top of that, it just isn't that fun. I am level 53 and still using the same 2-3 skills for most combat. Definitely not worth the $15 subscription fee. I do not plan to renew.

I bought this game and have lived to regret the wasted $50. The gameplay sucks, and it's pretty much equally inefficient as Crysis with the graphics. You can turn the graphics down all the way with very little improvement in frame rate. This is with a e4300@3.2GHZ, 4gb ram, 8800gts. They have a long way to go in optimizing the game.

it doesnt reuse skills any more than any mmo ive played...sounds like you dont like mmos
