Yup, I bought it no problem....well the only problem was that they needed a manager override on the price and the manager was busy with an upset customer so I had to wait like 10 minutes for him to come and enter his override code. But the game was marked at $50 so for $20 I can't complain. time to go fire it up and see how it looks.

That is the most uber stupid remark I've heard. Please don't mention US Laws unless you know what they are exactly. Any ads can techically be made and can be denyed by the store. Yes, you can really lie on the ads to bring people in, stores are allowed to do that.

Only thing they can not do is lie about the price in store. If they price of a product is a different amount then they have to honor to different amount.

But if they lie to you about an ad and they do not honor, they have their rights as a store. It will leave a mark on the store and it's company which would bring consumer driven sales down. That's the reason why they do accept ad prices.

But OP its a great deal must pick one up.

? makes sense, but what about if they mis-price items in the store? They don't have to honor them, do they?

States have different laws, but in general, B&M stores must honor shelf tag prices.

I thought it was federal law that says that retail stores have to pay a fine even if the product rings up at a higher price and they price adjust it. It's called scanner laws or something like that. Could be a MI state law, I suppose.

Wow, I guess I started something. Regarding bait and switch and everyone else. Actually advertising mainly newsprint can be misleading. Note it does vary on state level, but what I am aware is that most states allow this. Reason why is possibly due to frachise and francisee *participating store agreement* or something completely else. *why you don't see .99 menu at Jack'n'Box in SF" I'm just stating you can't sue for this.

But if in store, like I said first time. They do have to honor it.~

I bought it partially in hopes of ending up in a confrontation with the manager. I wanted to be accused of trying to use a fake coupon and incarcerated or something. Kid scanned coupon, entered price, got athorization code from dude walking by, and apologized for the coupon not scanning right (it didn't take anything off).

I was gonna call Channel 3 news and I had a speach part way planned out and everything.

update: worked today w/ a manager override. The coupon showed up as "PC Hot deal" or something like that, but didn't actually take money off until the manager code was entered. Sweet deal!

I made a screenshot of the BB page that had the link to the coupon, just in case they had a Barney Fife manager on duty. -Didn't need it.

Grabbed my copy yesterday, no manager needed. The only extra time involved was chatting up the cute cashier since there wasn't anyone else in line... picked up Civ IV at the same time, it's on sale for 29.99 (reg 49.99). Between these two games, you may not see me around for a while!!
