Age of Empires II and XP

I'm having a heck of a time gettintg my son's AOEII up and running under XP.

The expansion pack disk always wants me to put the disk in the other drive , back and forth, and then gives me an error window with no specific explanation.

Any other troubles/fixes out there??

I have the AOE2 Gold pack loaded and working fine in my XP Pro system.

Are you maybe trying to run an Age Of Kings campaign but starting the Conquerors expansion? You can do that (and get the extra units available in the AOK campaigns), but it checks for the Conquerors disk when you start up, and then it checks the AOE2 disk when the campaign runs. I installed AoE2 on my dvd and Conquerors on my CD-RW, so I was able to leave both in my system at once and avoid swapping. I also think one time I reversed the disks (ie: AoE2 in the CD-RW), and it didn't like it and I had to swap things around. Did you install both disks on the same drive?

Works fine for me. I use the no-cd hack (I own it, i use no CDs whenever I can)
