Rise of Nations is still my favorite RTS of all time. Ensemble will have to do a lot to beat it.

The were nice, but hordes of Hittite catapults could mow almost anyone down when backed with some defensive units.

We'll wait and see when this finally comes out, I remember things getting delayed numerous times on the various Age games before this.

I'm also waiting to see more on EE II. Supposedly they have completely rewritten the engine so that the computer no longer cheats, we'll see.

Battle For MIddle Earth is fun and I am actually going to play a game of it right now but lets face it its no Age of Empires. It will keep me busy until the AOE III comes out

Microsoft publishes it, but Ensemble Studios has complete cotrol over the game and release date. That's the only way they're able to take their sweet time releasing these things and hold them up to such a high standard. If EA was behind ES we'd already have AoE IX and it would have sucked.
