It appears the Kaiser guy may have dosed me hard, with my mileage being varied as to short term effectiveness versus tissue available for corrective operation in the long term.
Getting the fluids checked, Gotta get checked under the hood, sitting at home letting the cortisone soak in. Doc said to avoid activity today so I guess beating off is out of the question....:brokenheart::laugh:
Now what sucks is not having anything like sick or holiday time off, so it's an unpaid day off.
At least I have insurance....
I went in this morning for my 90 day "oil change" and had him add a quart of cortisone while he was "under the hood." (along with a nice "cocktail of his happy juice: a double shot of both versed and fentanyl) yeah baby...THAT'S what I'm talkin about!
Epidurals aren't the most pleasant procedure, but when they work...they work VERY well. (maybe 1 out of 4 doesn't help at all, and maybe 1 out of 8 actually make me hurt worse)
My low back is so fubared that the epidurals are the only relief of any kind I get. The doc keeps offering me all kinds of "candy," but I don't like the stuff and refuse it.
He & I were talking about Celebrex this morning. I MAY give that one a try in a couple of weeks.
Gettin old sux. Much worse for those of us who have spent our lives doing physical jobs than for most office-weenies. The work takes a tremendous toll on the body, but at least I still have MOST of my hair...even though it IS mostly gray...
34 years ago, when my wife and I were young...we talked about growing old together. We never knew how much it was gonna hurt. I tell her that if I had known, I'd have just refused to grow old...
