AGP speed

I just got a new Graphics card, and in the manual it recomends that you have a 4x AGP slot, but my mother board only has a 1x AGP, my problem is that when i play my game Black and White it runs ok but there is multi coloured dots on the land scape and the sky at random places.

The new card is a 'ChainTech GeForce2mx 32mb SDRAM' I tryed the new driver form the nvidia site, it did not make them go a way.

My old card was a 'VooDoo 3 AGP' but it can run at 1x AGP, and when i play the game with the voodoo the dots are not there.

Did you completely remove all of your old 3DFX drivers before installing the GF2MX card?

Did you change your driver to standard PCI before shutting down and installing the new card? Also, make sure the card is seated, ie remove and reinsert. Check your monitor cable too, a loose connection can cause artifacts.

It could be a million things but basically the GF series has been well known to have some problems with certain games.
A. Find out what engine (graphics wise) the game is based on.
B. If it is a current popular game engine ie... Q3, UT,... Go to this
site and see if you can find some info on the game type.
C. While at the above site find the question about recommended BIOS settings for the GF series and make sure you check them.
D. The Ctrl-Alt-Del.com has most of the currently available drivers by Nvidia you may want to try some of those. Personally I use Win2k and the 7.58 drivers have been the best for me.
