AGP Value Card

Hey everyone.

I'm building 3 systems for an office environment. The systems are to be value systems and are only gonna cost around $400 to the buyer. The needs of the consumer are mainly online access, office programs, light graphical and CAD programs, and some blue print programs.

My question is, what is the best value AGP graphics card to put in there? When i say value I mean $75 or under.

I cant seem to find a value-card comparison in these forums so any help would be great.

I have seen a few that I might consider for under $75 for these systems:

Geforce FX5200 128mb (128bit)
Geforce FX5500 128mb (128bit)
ATI Radeon 9200 128mb (128-bit)
ATI Radeon 9200SE 128mb (64-bit)
ATI Radeon 9550 128mb (128-bit)
ATI Radeon 9550SE 128mb (64-bit)

I have also seen Radeon 9600 128mb (128-bit) cards for around $80-85. Would this be a huge jump from a 9550?

I know similar threads have probablly come up like this, but its really a simple question, which one performs best in terms of there 3D graphics abilities?

Forget what I said about ebay. Heres a guy selling is 9500 Pro for $55.

Its much better than the cards you just listed. And its way below your budget

Well, the 9500 Pro is going to be the best performer, with the 9600 being a close second. However, since major graphic hardware isn't required, most any of those cards will be fine for their tasks. I'd try to go with a 128-bit card, though.

If you won`t have chance to purchase 9500pro 128mb card, then buy that Radeon 9550 128mb 128bit, it`s very good card ;-), but 9500pro radeon is much more better ))

How about a TI4200. It can be modded into a Quadro if you want, is very reliable, and performs well in games. It has 4X2 pipeline architecture instead of the 4X1 found on 9600's, fx5500's, and the rest of the cards you mentioned. I am selling a TI4200 for around $60 shipped. Check this link:

I would recomend the 9500 pro that somone already mentioned. Do not get the fx5200, it is a horrible card.
