I knew a guy with a Grand National. They truly were sleeper cars. From a distance nothing special but rev it or hit the gas hard they became very aggressive.
there were 2 ways to get a GN:

1 order the GN and get the darth vader car.

2 order the Regal T-type Turbo. same car minus the darth vader paint and cool rims.

number 2 is a sleeper. My friend had to move one to a different dealership and all most shit his pants when he got on it. Damn near went sideways getting on the street.

That's the problem with that class of car. They handled like a Radio Flyer. Any retard can make a car go fast. Skillful engineering means it can handle the power.

They make decent drag racing cars but that's about it. Fast in a straight line.

corianthian leather, anyone??
amazing how one ad campaign has so infiltrated the common consciousness.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corinthian_leather
Corinthian leather is a term coined by the advertising agency Bozell to describe the upholstery used in certain Chrysler luxury vehicles. The term first appeared in advertising in 1974.[1] Although the term suggests that the product has a relationship to or origination from Corinth, there is no relationship; the term is merely a marketing concept.

The term was first used during the marketing campaign for the 1974 Imperial LeBaron, but the term is usually associated with the marketing campaign for the 1975 Cordoba and that campaign's celebrity spokesperson, Ricardo Montalban, who described "the thickly-cushioned luxury of seats available even in soft Corinthian leather".[2][3]

Despite the exotic origin suggested by the name "Corinthian leather", much of the leather used in Chrysler vehicles during the era originated from a supplier located outside Newark, New Jersey.[4]

Some sources say the term refers to the combination of leather seating surfaces and vinyl seat sides.[5][6] However, most cars worldwide with "leather upholstery" have matching color vinyl seat bases and often the rear faces of the front seats, the head rests, and the door facings. The standard term in period car catalogs was 'leather with vinyl', and sometimes 'leather seat facings'.

Don't forget the Bad Asses:

That, right there.

In a nutshell.

The Regal T-Types were even funnier, I worked with a guy had a vette at the time and he knew dealer had a T-Type Turbo on the lot.

That thing was a real kick for being a sleeper, they looked so laid back.

They went out one the road and they stopped somewhere and told the guy to punch his vet when he wanted to, the guy Power breaked the T-Type a second or two and passed him like he was standing still it sounded, the guy I worked with sold the vette the next week.

The Vette was rather neutered in the 80's
