Ahanix case anyone?

I want to change to a different flavor than Antec and stummble upon Ahanix cases. Are they considered good or at least average quality case menufacturer? The ones I'm interested are Neon, BLU, RARE XG, G20, Extreme, Platinum XP, and M25. Any feedback is appreciated!

You get what you pay for. I have used several because they are cheap. Can't say it any clearer than that. If you are gonna be in and out of your case you may want to invest in a thermaltake or a lian li, chief tec, antec, etc. Ahanix is ok but don't expect the world from them.

I got the Platinum XP with a zalman fan bus controller. It has held up well but as the previous post says, you get what you pay for.

It comes down to either Neon or BLU line.

However, is there any steel case you guys can recommend that does not have the fan on the side of the case and very easy to access. I want the Cheftech case but they all have some strange color and side fan.

Is there a reason you don't want the side fan? I've found a side fan can drop temperatures of the cpu dramatically.

If you want a full tower, the Inwin Q500 is awesome.

I bought the platXP way back when THG first reviewed it. I have to say the intial review was a little excessively positive. While I'm generally satisfied with the case, it isn't the finest construction in the world, and the overall effect is not dramatically better than your avg. ~35.00 case. I would recommend getting a slightly higher end case like the sonata.

Well. First of all, I don't overclock so temperature isn't really an issue here. Second, I have the LCD screen next to the case. Constantly blow air (specially warm air) to the screen.... eh.... it doesn't seem to be a good idea to me.

Sonata... is that a name of a company or the case?

I had an Inwin case couple years ago before (forget which one) and wasn't pleased by its design in general. I think it was recommended by Anandtech or Sharky or something.

Sonata is one of the new antec models. It has gotten a wealth of positive reviews and costs about $100.00. The finish blows away the platXP and the overall construction quality seems to be much higher.

Alternatively you can look at coolermaster cases or check out THG's new case reviews, but once I again I would urge you to stay away from middle end plastic cases because they completely miss the value curve (ie: if you don't mind cheap build quality and fragile bezels, you might as well buy low end, if you want something of decent quality you might as well spend the extra 15-20% and get something that has been engineered and constructed with a bit more effort)
