Ahh My ADSL is being really weird PLEASE HELP

MY ADSL keeps turning on And OFF! every like 3 minutes... its go ons and then later turns off or it goes really fast than All of sudden GOES SO LAGGY... i dont know what would've caused this i didn't do anything with my computer.. it was working fine like a day ago.. but when i came back from school today and turned it on .. it stopped working then like 3 minutes later it turns on again.. i checked for a virus with norton but to no prevail...Can anyone help me in this situation??and if you have yahoo messenger or msn messenger that would be a help

Contact your ISP. they will probably come out and do a line test to make sure everything is ok there.

nope nope.... nothings wrong with telus Because my friend up the street HAS THe same EXACT internet as me and his is workiin fine

Don't be so sure. Your friend down the street may have better lines to his place than you do. DSL is very distance limited, a few feet can mean the difference between getting it and not. It is also suseptible to bad phone lines or "noise" on the line. I'd contact your ISP anyhow. They may do a line test, or they may not. Either way, they are better suited to fixing your specific problem, as many things can go wrong with xDSL that makes it tough for us to help. Of course, do feel free to ask and the people here will try.

have you tried resetting your modem? I have had that problem a time or two. Unplug the modem for a minute, plug it back in, then reboot. I would call the isp if that doesn't work, matter of fact whenever I call my isp that is the first thing they want me to do.

OK i looked deeper into the problem and i think its counterstrikes thats doing this cause when i aint on it ... its works fine.. better than ever.. but then when i start playing counterstrike it takes like an 10 minutes to get into a game and when i exit counterstrike my internet turns off... This did not happen ever to me before and i didn't change any settings!

I tried unplugging then plugging in my modem but it didn't work... i tried contacted the makers of counterstrike but they didn't say anything...

HERE.
DSL Reports has been especially good for me, as their SBC board is moderated by dedicated DSL technicians, who make a real difference.
