AHHH - help - police report

allrite i have been wanting this job for a while. Now they did a background check and see that some moron is suing me on the 29th of next month for some accidant that happened in 2004. I DONT EVEN OWN A BLOODY CAR.

How can i get this report and find out what the hell is happening. i need to figure this out or i loose the offer.

explain it to them (potential employer) - it shouldn't be a deal breaker for them if it wasn't actually you.

The police won't have the foggiest idea about a lawsuit against you.

If you have a lawsuit filed against you, you should ask for a copy of the lawsuit from the court that it was filed in-- although, they should've already sent you a copy by certified mail.

Dude, don't go to the station, they'll arrest you! Are you a total n00b at life?!?! Anytime there is a suit over a criminal matter there is an automatic bench warrant issued out on you in order for you to be picked up and notified of the coming action against you.

I guess you may as well go get booked and get it over with because if the date rolls up and you haven't been processed the judge is likely to throw the book at you.

Last time I checked one is usually served some type of papers to appear in court if they are part of a lawsuit. So your telling us that if this potential employer didn't run the background check you wouldn't have know about the court appearance on the 29th?

You avoided the implicit question. Did you have a car at the time of the accident? Whether you have a car now is not relevant.
