Xmas will officially be 200 days since the last MBP refresh and it's driving me crazy! I feel like a kid on Xmas eve...except I don't care about Xmas. I don't even get an Xmas until they refresh the damn laptops! When is January 17th (or whenever!) getting here?!?!!

I'm dyin' here, apple!

wow, my first apple system is the mbp I bought this past June when they were released...can't believe it has almost been 200 days already. About time to be officially out of date I guess, hahaha

When you think about it, this is semi-rediculous: 200 days?!
Then again, it's Apple...

Is there any official date (I know Jan 17 was mentioned) for the refresh?

I "still" have my last-gen G4 Powerbook, and I must say I am by no means still loving it.

=]

Yeah, those last gen iBook/Powerbook G4 models are really starting to show their age now. They do seem to last though. I look forward to setting it aside for a new MacBook when the the next refresh comes out.

Still dying.

I need Apple to bail me out on this one. People are talking about yet ANOTHER C2D offering, and noting that there might not be USB 3.0 support (or anything else "new").

But I really need Apple to pull one out of their hats here. I'm not waiting until June-August for a "new" laptop. If they don't do a new i5 thing with decent graphics and some "new" features (that wireless screensharing, USB 3, eSata, SOMETHING) then I might just -- gasp -- go get a PC. I realized that part of why I want a Mac is there's no thought involved in getting one. You have only one choice. And I'm scared of all the research it'll take to get a PC (vendors, pricing, sales, configurations, etc).

But I'm going to speak with my dollar, and there's no way I'm going to pay $2000 for a subpar laptop. I did that once with my G4, and I'm not doing it again.

So please, Stevie, hook us up just this once....

QFT. I don't think Apple can afford not to have a new offering this quarter. It's been with C2D for over three years now, and there needs to be some better upgrades.

Honestly, I don't need a new laptop. My unibody (with the replaceable battery) macbook pro is fast enough. Everything works quickly and bigger faster hardware would be nothing to me.

Until software I am using starts to slow down because of my hardware, I'm set.

Everything except Adobe apps, and some other random ones, work fine for me. And, maybe I'll find that a Corei7 and the extra stuff won't help.. it's just poor coding. But I'd really like it if the i7 hardware made Lightroom and Photoshop work a bit better.

this. especially since apple replaced the led side of the clamshell and the superdrive of my penryn mbp, the thing is a like a new machine. i can probably get another 2 years out of this thing easy.

That said, my office got 2 27 inch imac's in today. I'd gladly trade my 24 inch display and macbook pro for a the high end 27 inch imac. That thing was awesome.

I will tell you that....... I am in love with my 27" i7 iMac, a few people at the office opted for MBP's over the iMacs.. They're wishing they wouldn't have done that now..

I'm tempted to go this route and have two of them. One at my home office and one at work office. Then use dropbox to sync the necessary files. I'm waiting until the end of the month, but I'm thinking this is the way I'm going to go.
