Discussion AI Posts - Should we report them?

Starting to see a lot more posts that look to be AI generated responses. They typically are new accounts, often respond to some older thread, never add anything new to the discussion, and rarely return to posts anything else. I wonder if they are using this tactic to later add spam to these posts. So should we report posts like this or this just something we are going to see from here on out? They technically aren't breaking any forum rules right?

I've also been thinking about this subject. I wish there was a forum rule where you need to disclose if you use AI to reply. It would be nice to know if someone is using AI to edit or enhance a post you wrote, or if you use AI for most or all of your reply. Is there such a thing as AI detection for forums?

These companies shouldn't be allowed to get away with using the forums as a part of training their AI models.

If it is a new account, or new "enough" and has only being making the AI-like posts, I report it.

If on the other hand it is an existing member that simply used AI to generate a helpful reply, don't see the problem there. I mean a member that's been around a while, not the age old tactic of a spammer making very few seemingly relevant posts then proceeding to sneak in their spam URL in subsequent posts. A link to a well regarded reference is one thing. A self-promotion link to a blog is another.

Forum accounts are for real, live, people.
