FYI if you link two screennames with the newest AIM Beta (5.5.3501) you can make one invisible. If you create a noname account, sign on with the noname account, and link it to your normal account, you can make your normal account invisible. You can still message people from the normal account, but not show up on their list. You still show up in your own list as being online, though.
To link SNs: My AIM -> "Manage linked screenames..."
To be invisible: Click the little eye by the linked name.

Edit: Defeat #1 -> Info screen will still say "Online" and your online time. To open info for an offline user, click SN, use Alt-O (there is no link in the right-click menu).
