There are some talk radio programs I listen to and enjoy. Bill Handel on KFI640 out of Los Angeles and John & Ken occasionally. I'd listen to Jim Rome if I could get the damned station he moved to on my radio at work. I also listen to NPR occasionally because you sometimes get decent world news. That's about it.

I have been listening to Jason Lewis here in the Twin Cities. He has turned the heat up on the Republicans in this state, sometimes more than the dems.

I listen to Savage to laugh because his rants are off the charts. I don't necessarily agree with him on a lot of issues, but he isn't a complete moron like Hannity, Rush, and Beck, he's just borderline insane.

Maybe it is because Franken's message is falling on deaf ears. One of the reasons that liberals have yet to achieve the consolidation of numbers to the same extent as conservatives is that their message is all over the map.

Love him or hate him, Rush and other conservative talk show hosts have a clear and concise message...even if that message is often hypocritical, misleading, misdirected or otherwise intellectually dishonest.

Franken is all over the map sometimes...as is Garofalo...and neither is very funny...I didn't like Franken when he was on SNL, and I don't particularly care for him now.

Then again, my perception is that the only radio celebrity who is truly a champion of free speech is Howard Stern...his personal politics are neither conservative nor liberal, and he manages to piss off both camps on a frequent basis.

Does this really surprise anyone? Bad radio combined with a message that doesn't reflect the viewpoint of a large percentage of the population equals poor ratings. Without ratings they were doomed.....

"Demicans and Republocrats"

"The Republican party has stabbed us in the back"

"Bush is trading and spending and ruining this country for our children and grandchildren."

"At least the Democrats position is clear and the American people know what they stand for. Republicans still manipulate their members into thinking they're the party of small government and responsibility." --something along those lines. Not direct quotes. But Savage has all said things like that to which I wholeheartedly agree.

Yeah, not shocking. Frankly, their viewpoint was just a little too extreme IMO. It's not that there aren't liberals out there, they just aren't all Garafolo or Moore-style liberals.

Hopefully CNN will follow suit and fold shortly as well, they're heading in the same direction.
