Air Conditioned Coolermaster !!

Just a bit of background.

CPU is a X2-3800+ with a mild overclock to 2.4ghz. Stock Cooler
CPU voltage is 1.5v (chip needs it to be stable, yes I know its not great)

Temps before A/C mod were idle 34c and full load 57c.
Regardless of whether the temp monitor on the board is accurate or not, some really warm air was coming out the back.

As you can see my temps have dropped very nicely

The duct is a "Badong" (yes I know the name is ridiculous) and 4 65mm bits of pipe.
Total cost $31. !!

Full Load both cores 100% 38c

I'm very happy with it and seeing as my A/C is on all the time I'm used to the noise which isn't bad at all IMO.

What do you do in the winter time? You can't have that A/C on all year can you?

Standard air cooling will be fine....... two 80mm inlet and one 80mm exhaust.
Thats why I put it in the top hole.

Oh I'm in Brisbane, Australia so our winters aren't exactly cold

Its always cool to see what people do to solve problems they encounter. Necessity is the mother of invention. Just curious though what your normal winter temps are there?

Winter temps can drop to 8-10c at night...... day temps are almost always above 20c.

There is no condensation as the air coming from the A/C unit is 'dry'as an air conditioner removes the moisture from the air.

Its 4am here and 26c at the moment....... damn humid too :-(

even if you have "dry" air coming in, you still have moist air in your room/case (unless your case is vacuum tight).

so the "dry cold air" will still cause condensation due to the moist air in your room.

just be on the watchout for it

Nice... Too bad you need quite some voltage to let it run at 2.5GHz... Temps aren't exactly that low for such a modification IMHO... A high-end cooler will very nearly cool the same, but will cost more indeed (unless you take an AC Freezer 64 Pro)...

with a better one I guess 35c or maybe lower

Condensation occurs when moist air touches a cool surface, cool is the important part. Water will not condense om warm computer parts, it might gather on the case, but I doubt it.
