Im building a PC from the ground up, got all the parts from Newegg.com.

Here's My List O' Parts:

Asus A7N8X Deluxe
Amd 2500+ "Barton"
2x256MB Corsair 2700LL
ATI 9700 (not pro)
Seagate 80GB Serial ATA
Zalman CNPS-6000cu Heatsink and 1200mm fan
Zalman ZM80A VGA Heatsink

I want it to be somewhat quiet, but have good airflow as well (doesn't everyone?)

There are 8 fans all together: (all rated under 30 dB)
2- Antec TruePower 430W (ive heard is quiet)
2- Antec Fans (came with the case, PLUSVIEW1000AMG) for rear exhaust
2- Vantec Stealth Fans for front intake
1- Coolermaster LED Fan, for side panel
1- Zalman 120mm fan for the HS

I have drawn up a Picture of fan placement and assumed airflow.
The only dead spot i can think of is the 5 1/4" Drive bay area.

My question is, is this a good airflow design in the Case.

If any body has any pointers or suggestions about different fan placement or different fans to use to make it a little quieter.

Thank You

I don't know how much cooling you need for a 2500+ but damn thats a lot of airflow!

I wouldn't worry about the bays, they make heat but nothing to call home about.

Front intake fans are generally marginally beneficial. I don't think two front intake fans will do that much good. Replace the coolermaster and antec with the stealth and see how much hotter it is.

Running a similar Antec config... same fan setup, works quite well. Monitor CPU heat with the Zalman and no OC for you, not the best for overclocking. But you should be in pretty good shape without it.
Have three low flows for the front intake area... two higher CFM exhast in the back in addition to the PS...

I have a VERY simular setup, but a differant Vantek heatsink/fan on an XP2700 (NO OC) on an EPoX 8K9A3+ with 3 40g hardrives on RAID 0 and no side case fans...

My case sits in a cabinet with another machine and runs DC projects and runs at 49C at load max.

I think you will find yours to run fine... you will be blowing lots of air, and it should be relatively quite.

I agree that the Vantec coolers and stealth fans will keep you from overclocking, I wouldn't overclock based on load temps of 49C.

But of course, YMMV.

thats similar to air flow in my chieftec aluminum dragon case.

two 80mm intakes, two 80mm exhausts, 92mm intake & 80mm exhaust on antec smartblue350, alpha 8045U heatsink on CPU with 80mm fan sucking air, and a pci slot system blower. case temps are room temperature. i do plan on adding a air filter in the front to prevent dust buildup, and add a sunbeam rheobus to control noise when not needed.

btw, fans i used were antec led's for the intake, fans for exhaust came with the case from newegg, and the 80mm on the HSF came as a combo from newegg.

I have the exact same case (who doesn't? heheh)

Currently I'm running this setup (all fans are 8cm, various brands):
1 front intake (2000 RPM)
2 back exhaust (1300, 1500 RPM)
1 PSU exhaust (1500 RPM)

I decided against a fan in the side panel because it seemed like even the slightest vibration (Papst @ 5V, 1000 RPM) would cause the entire panel to vibrate and create awful noise.

I'm getting slightly higher than normal temps now, but the tweaking continues.

2 front intakes might be a good idea, with lower RPM each. I'm going to try that. Also, it would balance the ingoing and outgoing air with my setup.

Good luck!

More fans = more noise, but doesn't always mean lower temps.

You know that case fan just below the PSU? My case has a single fan there and turned it around to push air into the case. Then I bought some clothes dryer exhaust duct for $7 and cut a short piece and directed the new intake fan to blow directly onto the CPU.

My CPU temp dropped from 45-47 to 38-39 degrees Celsius.
