AIW 7500

I just received an ati aiw 7500, it is going to replace an older 32mb radeon. My question.. is there a proper procedure to install the new drivers for this card? Also which driver set is the best for this card? I am dual booting into win98 and xp.

Any help will be appreciated.

proper procedure.. i don't know..

but 'do not do' while installing a new video card is to NOT uninstall current video card's driver... even tho in this case, the manufacture is same... it's still recommended to uninstall current driver, and install new one..

current ATi driver is catalist 2.3 .. very soon.. 2.4 will be out... hopefully fixing the darn xp issue and system memory

1. Completely remote the old driver. I believe there are instructions on Rage3D on how to do it.
2. Install the video capture drivers
3. Install everything else in the order specified by the instructions (I believe video drivers/control panel then MMC/DVD then remote wonder)

Download the latest drivers from ATi.

Remove all of the drivers and software for your previous video card.
Shut down and switch out the cards.
Boot up (should be in VGA mode).
Install drivers (do not reboot).
Install control panels (do not reboot).
Install WDM drivers (do not reboot).
Install Hydravision (optional - reboot!).
Windows should identify all of your wonderful new hardware.
Install ATi DVD player (optional).
Install ATi Multimedia Center (needed for TV - optional).
Install Remote Wonder 1.1 drivers (optional).
Install Remote Wonder 1.2 drivers (optional - reboot)


Should be good to go!
